Exclusive: Into the Woods' Lilla Crawford shares on-set secrets

It's official, one of last year's best movies Into the Woods (which earned Meryl Streep her very first Kids' Choice Awards nomination for her role as the witch) is now available on Blu-ray combo pack, Digital HD and Diney Movies Everywhere. To celebrate the release, we talked to Lilla Crawford who played Little Red Riding Hood to get the behind-the-scenes scoop and find out five awesome secrets from on set. Check out what she had to say below.

Cookie Crazy

Since Little Red Riding Hood has to eat so much food in the movie, a special chef offered to make whatever treats I wanted for the scenes. I am obsessed with these British cookies called Jaffa Cakes, so he made me about 5 different variations of the cookie, and I got to taste test all of them and pick which one I liked the best. That was a good day – also anytime I had to eat them for a scene was a good day too!

Little Red Riding Bey

The scene in the movie where I'm falling down the wolf's stomach was super fun to film because I had to be suspended 6 stories in the air, in front of a huge green screen. The harness got uncomfortable after a while, but they had huge wind machines blowing in my face to create an effect and I felt like Beyoncé. Well, if Beyoncé was falling down Johnny Depp’s esophagus, haha!

Scalp Massage, Little Girl?

My favorite Johnny Depp story is from while we were filming "Hello Little Girl." A bunch of leaves fell on my head, and the hair and makeup crew came rushing over to clean me off, but Johnny volunteered to pick them out one by one out of my hair for me. He is so nice and I'm sure such a great dad since his daughter is around my age.

La Maestra Mejor

Emily Blunt is really good at Spanish and she helped me study for a Spanish test once. I actually got an A on it. She quizzed me on and off the whole day – and has a great accent, LOL!

Witch Hunt

In the movie, Meryl had to wear these beautiful long blue nails. When we were filming a scene where there are huge wind machines, the nails kept flying off! They started to run out of extra nails, so the other actors and I had to crawl around the forest floor looking for them. It was hilarious because all of these famous actors were crawling in dirt and picking through leaves looking for these really small nails, hahah.
