So Michael Clifford accidentally set himself on fire. WHAT?!

 
Before we say anything, you should know that 5 Seconds of Summer’s Michael Clifford is going to be okay (phew!). If you haven’t heard what happened, things got a little crazy Saturday night when Mikey caught on fire during a concert in London. Mikey was performing on stage, unaware that he had walked into the line of fire of the show’s pyrotechnic (fire) display, when one of the fire jets landed right on the side of his face. 

The concert was cut short while Michael was rushed to the hospital, and bandmember Ashton Irwin took the stage to explain to the audience what had happened. Luckily, everything was (mostly) okay. The doctors bandaged him up and, despite his injuries, gave him the OK to perform at last night’s Sunday concert. 

 

Sharing a pic, Mikey tweeted his concerned fans, “Sorry I couldn’t finish the encore, but at least I look like two face. Thanks for worrying every1 x.”

He looked and sounded like the true rock star he is when performing Sunday night, only 24 hours after the accident. There are pictures floating around of a red patch of skin next to his eye, but other than that he looks better than ever. We’re definitely glad the fire didn’t get any of his trademark dyed hair!

We are so proud of Michael’s positive attitude, and we hope his recovery is as speedy as can be.
