Emma Roberts is keeping it real in her aerie ads

Emma Roberts, most known for her roles in American Horror Story and the upcoming show Scream Queens, is not afraid to show the world what she really looks like. Teaming up with aerie, a popular underwear and apparel company, Emma's joining their #aerieREAL campaign, supporting their decision to advertise their clothing just as it's shot on camera—AKA completely unretouched.

Most celeb photos we see are Photoshopped to some degree, even if it's just smoothing out the flyaways in their hair or getting rid of that morning's unfortunate zit. But plenty of pictures take it to far, with magazine's coverstars becoming basically unrecognizable. By participating in the #aerieREAL campaign, Emma (like many other stars), is speaking out against retouching. "It's refreshing to step out of the screen and celebrate what makes you, you," she told USA Today.

It's so inspiring to see Emma and aerie come together to celebrate what we look like without any digital help, and it is unfortunate we do not see that more often. By embracing her imperfections, you see how truly gorgeous Emma really is—inside and out. In an interview with Refinery29, Emma shared, “I've actually never felt more confident and comfortable on a set.... This is just me, in clothes I feel good in, being who I am."

To celebrate the launch of the campaign, Emma even through a dinner party for a bunch of her friends. Check out more of the #aerieREAL artwork on the walls behind the table.

This clothing line will come soon to stores this fall, and we think other companies should embrace what Aerie has: less retouching and, more real beauty.

What do you think about aerie's #aerieREAL campaign? How do you think Emma looks in her unretouched photos?
