Exclusive: Get your first look at The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar

It's hard to argue that The Lion King is one of the best Disney movies ever made. Now that the movie is 21 years old, though, it's time for a new king to reign. In Disney Channel's new TV movie, premiering Sunday, November 22nd, Simba's son Kion is getting his own story—plus a TV show to follow.

In The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar, Kion's in line to be the next head of the lion guard—but instead of choosing the fiercest, strongest lines to back him up, he relies on some other very special friends: Bunga, a honey badger, Fuli, a cheetah, Beshte, a hippo, and Ono, an egret. Together, they form the fiercest team to serve and protect the pridelines using their individual strengths and skills.

Here at GL, we've got an exclusive introduction to Kion, featuring fellow prince Ben from Disney's Descendants. Check it out, and catch it on screen later during Disney's Toy Story of Terror! tonight at 7:30 p.m.

You can catch Kion, his friends, sister Kiara and parents Simba and Nala, plus all the rest in the movie November 22nd at 7:00 p.m. on Disney Channel and in the show starting early 2016. With a star-studded cast that includes Sarah Hyland, Madison Pettis, Gabrielle Union, Rob Lowe and James Earl Jones, you won't want to miss this.
