BFW's Lauren & Landry share their best double date tips

In tomorrow's new episode of Disney Channel's Best Friends Whenever, Cyd and Shelby each meet a guy that they're totally into. Problem is, they met their crushes in two separate timelines—and they can only stick with one.

It's not a problem that any of us have IRL as non-time-travelers, but things can still be awkward when both you and your BFF have a crush at the same time. Do you double? Group date? Keep everything separate?

We reached out to Lauren Taylor and Landry Bender—aka the actresses behind Cyd and Shelby—to get all their best double date tips. Check 'em out.

How do you pick dates to double with?
Lauren: Pick dates that you both feel at ease around and like to hang out with. That way it's less awkward and more comfortable for everyone.
Landry: Definitely. Make sure to pick someone who you know you two would get along with and wouldn't make things awkward. It's so important to have fun and not take things too seriously.

What are fun double date activities?
Lauren: You can take a picnic to the beach, go see a movie, rent kayaks, have a mini golfing competition, or grab lunch or a cute diner.
Landry: Bowling, dinner, the movies, arcade games, or some kind of amusement park!

What happens when you and your BFF like each other's dates?
Lauren: If you like each other's dates, it's important to be honest about it and never let boys come in between your friendship.
Landry: I'd say to talk to each other about it afterwards. Just like Cyd and Shelby figure out in the episode, it's a super hard thing to do but gets even harder if you try and keep it inside. We're all still growing up and trying to learn things about ourselves so it's better just to talk about it and figure everything out.

What if you and your date are clicking—but your BFF and her date aren't?
Lauren: Make it clear to your date that you like them and would like to see them again, but get your girl out of there!
Landry: The worst thing you could do in that situation is make it even MORE awkward. If it were me, I would do my best to include them.

Think you're ready for a double date? Then grab your bestie and some babes and get planning—but don't forget to tune in to the new Best Friends Whenever, premiering tomorrow, February 21 at 8:30 p.m. Check out our exclusive clip below.
