What Taylor Swift did for this nurse will make you smile

National Nurses Week kicks off today and lasts until May 12, and while nurses are always deserving of our accolades, this year it just feels all the more necessary to stop, take a moment and think of ways that we can show our appreciation.

And that's *exactly* what Taylor Swift did for Whitney Hilton, a registered nurse at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah, who recently selflessly traveled to New York to work in the epicenter of the COVID-19 crisis. You see, Whitney is a total Swiftie (natch), and since we all know that Taylor has a super-strong connection with her fans and checks in with many of them on social media, Taylor caught wind that it was Whitney's 30th birthday, and she decided to do something special. So, she sent over the most epic goodie bag, packed with autographed merch.

Let's just say that Whitney's reaction was #allofus.

To top it all off, Taylor included a heartfelt note, where she applauded Whitney for the work she's doing, both in the hospital and by spreading awareness about the dangers of COVID-19. "I can't thank you enough for risking your life to help people and for spreading the message loudly that people need to hear about taking this seriously," the note read. "Also, I saw the photo of you from my show! Thank you for coming! I would love to give you a hug next time and thank you in person. With love and admiration, Taylor."

We shoud all take a page out of Taylor's book and show a nurse some extra love this week!
