Our fave moments from the first night of Sabrina Carpenter's Short n' Sweet tour
Yesterday marked the first night of Sabrina Carpenter’s highly anticipated Short n’ Sweet Tour. But let's just say there was no ~shortage~ of iconic moments.
If your FYP is flooded today with footage from the inaugural show last night in Columbus, Ohio—same here. We've rounded up the best snapshots from socials for your viewing pleasure (but be warned, your FOMO might just hit an all time high).
Sabrina was bringing more than just her trademark talent to the stage. There was originality in everything: the unique house-shaped set, the adorable sparkly fits, the choreo that—mark our words—is about to be all over TikTok. This was def one unforgettable night, and these concert clips are sure to make you beg for your own tix (just make sure you say please, please, please).
1. An entrance fit for a literal princess
If you thought Sabrina Carpenter couldn’t get anymore pop princess, her whimsical intro (which looked like it was ripped straight from a nostalgic Disney movie) proved you wrong. She opened her set with an animated version of herself, looking like total royalty and getting ready for the show. Following the intro, the singer ran onto the stage in a bath towel, opening it to reveal her bedazzled pink getup. Everybody say hello to the beginning of the Short n' Sweet style era!
2. A homey stage setup
You've never seen a set quite like this, trust. Sabrina's stage looked like a `70s-inspired Polly Pocket house come to life, with two sets of spiral stairs leading to a balcony. The design also included two different “rooms”: a bathroom and a bedroom decorated with Sab's classic heart iconography. The main stage even included a makeup vanity, a live fireplace and a lamp, making this possibly the comfiest stage a popstar has ever performed on.
3. The cutest conversation pit
As if the set's vintage aesthetic couldn't get any more perfect...it also centered on a velvety, you guessed it, heart-shaped conversation pit. This retro feature was placed at the bottom of the walkway, so Sabrina and her dancers could lounge in between songs. Wish it was even more extra? DW, while Sabrina performed "Juno" from her new album, she was literally lifted into the air atop the giant heart.
4. A spontaneous karaoke sesh
In true flirty Sabrina Carpenter fashion, a game of Spin the Bottle had to be played. Sabrina and her dancers crowded around the conversation pit and "spun the bottle" to reveal a surprise karaoke song that Sabrina would perform for the audience. Sabrina is known for her killer covers (esp. the ones she rocked during her Emails I Can’t Send Tour), so fans were excited to hear she would be continuing her streak by singing one at each Short N’ Sweet show. The crowd went wild when the bottle spun to "Mamma Mia"—and, TBH, we would have done the same.
5. An epic exit video
Even the final seconds of the show were still very on brand for Sabrina Carpenter. After she ended her set with the summer hit, "Espresso", the big screen played a quirky blooper reel, where she wished everyone well and said she hoped they'd “get home safe” (it's giving Tour Guide Barbie!). The perfect end to a perfect show, if you ask us.
