Transgender Homecoming queen's celebration cut short thanks to cyber bullying

Last Friday, a dream came true for 16-year-old Cassidy Lynn Campbell. She was crowned Homecoming queen at her California high school, a result so shocking, she dropped to the ground when her big win was announced.

You see, Cassidy is a transgender teen—a girl who was born male, but identifies as female. Being transgender has made life tough for Cassidy, but she embraces her identity, posting video blogs on YouTube explaining what everyday life is like for her. Her crown, she told a local news station, isn’t just for her, it’s for everyone.

But while she should have been celebrating, Cassidy was in her room crying. Why? Because as soon as the story broke, she began receiving nasty comments on social media outlets. They cyberbullying has made her question her choice to live as a girl, has made her doubt the world as a whole.

Over the weekend, she posted a video response to the cyberbullying. Take a peek…

What do you think, babes? How do you think we can put a stop to cyberbullying?
