Feel-Good Friday: How do you cheer up a sad panda? Build her an amusement park!
To lift the panda’s spirits, the zookeepers built an amusement park. Sure, there aren’t any ferris wheels or loop-de-loop roller coasters. But they did hook up her pen with a playground, parallel bars and—best of all—a plasma-screen TV.
No, she’s not binge-watching Pretty Little Liars like some of us (guilty!). They installed a cam to other panda zoo habitats so that she won’t feel quite so lonely. They also included a life-size panda in her enclosure.
All this playtime perked the panda right up. The zoo plans to introduce a new panda into Sijia’s enclosure soon. Maybe now they can spring for that roller coaster.
