You know iPhone's Siri? She just saved this teen's life

If you've bought a new iPhone in the past couple of years, then you know who Siri is. She's the little system robot there to give you direction, answer your burning questions or occasionally sass you if you know what to ask. But one 18-year-old boy from Tennessee found out that Siri can do more than just tell you how close the nearest Chipotle is—she can also save your life.

When Sam Ray was fixing up his truck, working on it from underneath and the jack fell, his car collapsed on top of him. With no one else home and in a relatively secluded area, Sam wasn't sure anybody would be able to hear him yelling. Trapped under the weight of the car and unable to reach his phone to call for help, Sam wasn't sure what he was going to do. At least until the pressure from the truck activated Siri, enabling him to voice command a call to 911

Sam still couldn't reach the phone to talk, but by shouting his address over and over he was able to direct the operator to his house. And though he received severe injuries (including broken ribs and a serious concussion), he told NBC that he is “thankful to be alive.” Lucky, too. Without Siri's help and Sam's own quick thinking, his injuries could've been a lot more serious.

You know how sometimes it's annoying when Siri accidentally activates? Yeah, we're only going to be grateful from here on out. Thanks, Siri!
