Must List

The new Miley Cyrus

Wow! Miley Cyrus has really tried to step it up. In her new CD, Can’t Be Tamed (available now), we experience all types of emotions (there’s love, hate and happiness) throughout the 12 tracks.

Loaded with tons of energy, Miley’s latest album makes it clear that the little gal we first met on Hannah Montana is maturing at a pace that is quite hard for us to keep up with. I mean, it is a big step to go from a more innocent message of “put your hands up, there's a party in the U.S.A.,” which we saw on her last album, to a more mature “If you wanna be her man understand she cannot be tamed,” in this new one.

Making her way onto the playlists of adoring teenagers, I still have to ask what her younger followers will think. Will they look up to this newer version of Miley as one of their idols? Belly shirts and dark eye makeup aren’t usually a parent-pleaser after all. But, then again, it’s Miley and how can you not love her?

Take her ah-mazing rendition of Brett Michaels’ “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” for example. Putting her own little twist on it, she really captures the message that nobody is perfect. And then there’s “Stay,” which, I must admit, made my heart melt a bit.

There are some questionable styles Miley seems to toy with in this album though. “Permanent December,” for example, is super catchy, but Miley’s shot at rapping was definitely a stretch. Kudos to her, though, for trying to show her talent doesn’t need to just span through the Pop scene.

Can’t Be Tamed has its ups and downs, but I think it’s definitely worth buying. Be sure to check out the album and let us know your favorite tracks.

Are you a fan of the “reformed” Miley? Blog about it, babes.
