6 Disney fairytales that deserve the live action treatment

We’re sensing a trend in our fave town where movies are made and stars are born (Hollywood, obvi) where fairytales are being turned into live action flicks. And it’s the best of both worlds, really. From Snow White, to the just-released Maleficent, to Cinderella set to come out in 2015, all the best princesses (and some evil queens!) are getting transformed from animation to the flesh thanks to some of our fave celebs.

So which other fairytales are we dying to see transformed next? Keep reading to find out!

    The Little Mermaid

We think Ariel is the perfect princess to see in live action. What girl doesn’t dream of being a mermaid anyway? Imagine how handsome Prince Eric would be and how terrifying they’d make Ursula. We’d give this movie an Oscar already and its not even happening yet.

    Beauty and the Beast

So there are already rumors of a Beauty and the Beast live action film in the works, with Emma Watson supposedly set to star as Belle. But it’s not for sure, so we’re still including it on our list because it has to happen!

    Aladdin

Imagine the special effects that would be used in this live version?! Magic carpet rides, genie bottles and all. Amazing. Where do we sign up to audition for Princess Jasmine? Her costumes will be to-die-for.

    Tangled

Who doesn’t love Tangled, the animated spin on Rapunzal? It needs to be brought to life. Flynn Rider for real? We’re getting so excited thinking about it.

  • 5brave.png

    Brave

This movie needs to be given a shot at live action because it was really the first Disney movie where the princess doesn’t need a prince to rescue her. Merida is strong, brave, and beautiful all on her own! Throw in an epic battle or two and it would be perfect.

    Frozen

Best for last? How could we assemble this list and not include Frozen? Come on, Anna and Elsa IRL? It doesn’t get much better than that.
