Must List

Thomas Sanders is taking his Vines on tour!

With more loops on his Vine account than Cameron Dallas and Nash Grier combined, you probably recognize the charming face above, but may not be able to conjure up his name. Allow us to fill in the blanks: His name is Thomas Sanders and he's a wickedly talented, super clever content creator that has the voice of an angel. And lucky for you, he's bringing that funny right to you with his national comedy tour this August.

The concept for Thomas' Ultimate Storytime Tour is based on his hugely popular "storytime" Vines, where he approaches strangers and narrates their actions. The tour will hit 17 cities across the US and in addition to being an LOL-worthy show, Thomas says it will also feature a great message: "Don't let anyone else define you or tell you what your story is going to be." So sweet! GL chatted with T and he shared more tour deets, his tips for staying positive and who *his* fave Viners are. Read on for all the fun...

GL: You have almost 8 million followers on Vine—that's seriously impressive! What first attracted you to the app?

Thomas Sanders: I loved the ability to easily share these short, funny segments of creativity and get this immediate feedback that, at that moment, was so new to me! All of the positive feedback that I got from my random humor, singing and impressions really encouraged me to keep going and evolve.

GL: You have a super funny series on your account called "storytime." What was your very first storytime post about and where did you get the idea?

Thomas: It was at a Whole Foods store and I went up to a guy who was squeezing a melon. I narrated how he pictured that melon as the heart of his enemies, to which he was completely thrown off by, but did laugh at! These random lines of dialogue just pop up sometimes from the inner recesses of my mind and I just roll with it.

GL: What can fans expect from the Ultimate Storytime Tour?

Thomas: Definitely expect all the humor and good feels you would get from my Vines, but on a fully-fledged musical scale! There's going to be some brilliant music, humor and an overall great message. Even if people go in not knowing any of my Vines, they're still going to laugh and enjoy the music and message. It beautifully stands on its own and I'm so proud of how it's come together.

GL: You have friends coming along on tour with you—who are they and what part will they play in the performance?

Thomas: I have truly lucked out with this cast because they're some of the dearest people in my life. Terrence Williams and Nicole Visco will be the main introverted guy and extroverted girl whose story I narrate throughout the show. Jay Harper is our typical (or maybe not so typical...) "bad guy." And Leo Anderson—another amazing social media content creator—will be playing a very special role in the show as well.

GL: You've created quite a few characters for your Vines—which is your favorite to play? Which do your followers enjoy the most?

Thomas: I think me and my followers both seem to enjoy my prince character the most! He's such a versatile character because he can be used for anything fairy tale or Disney-related, and those are both sources of content that mostly everyone has a connection to.

GL: You have an amazing voice, so we need to know: What’s your go-to song to sing in the shower?

Thomas: That's very kind of you to say! I always go back to singing "Fallin'" by Alicia Keys—it's just such a powerful song to have fun with.

GL: It’s easy to tell from the content you post that you’re an incredibly positive person. How do you stay so optimistic?

Thomas: For me, it's all about taking time to stop and think about all the blessings in my life. Just taking a moment to appreciate what I have and how far I've come can hopefully help me to maintain a positive outlook. Also, I take time for myself a lot, which is good for my own mental health!

GL: What advice can you share with GL readers who may be going through a rough time and are in need of some of that positivity?

Thomas: I can only imagine what you must be going through. Try to think of a rough time as bad weather that you will eventually pass through. Hopefully, you have time to distract yourself with some funny T.V. shows, cartoons or online content. You're not alone, either. There are people you can reach out to to help you to smile when you need it. It's also important to keep in mind that it's OK to feel sad sometimes—sadness is healthy and makes the happy times even more special and memorable.

GL: Who are some of *your* favorite Viners?

Thomas: I definitely love Viners like Victor Pope Jr.Danny GonzalezmeechonmarsGabriel Gundackermielmonster and Mikaela Long! They're creators who push the envelope of comedy on Vine and they continuously inspire me.
