7714st I started reading the Harry Potter books the summer after my first grade year. I remember that day perfectly. My mom was in our living room reading in one of the chairs. She was reading The Prisoner of Azkaban, with The Sorcerer's Stone on a side table next to her. I remember staring at the book, wondering how a person could read a book that big. I had taught myself to read, and I was always looking for a new challenge. My mom saw me looking at the book, sizing it up, and she said something that would change my life. "Would you like to read it?" She nodded to the book. "Yes please!" I said. I devoured the books, one after another. I saw myself in Hermione, but in more recent years I've also seen myself in Ginny. I'm smart, yes, but I'm also shy around boys I like, and I'm feisty when I'm mad. In second grade a bunch of my classmates had also read at least the first book, so we pretended we were the characters. I wanted to be Hermione, but my best friend was Hermione, so I was Ginny. I've admired her ever since. She knew who was right for her from the start. I've re-read the books at least once a year, and they've played a huge part in my life. I can't imagine life without them. I've seen all the movies, and I went to the midnight premier of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. I'm definitely going to the midnight premier of the last part, and I will enjoy it. Most people say that once the movie is over, there won't be anything to look forward to. Some people say that when they didn't get a letter from Hogwarts, they got upset and didn't like the books anymore. But the magic won't be gone for me. I will keep re-reading, and every time, I will find more wonder in it than the time before. Harry Potter always has been, and always will be, a part of my life. Nitwit, Blubber, Oddment, Tweak!
