Overshadowed by a singin' friend

I feel like she’s talking about me because she always gets a solo and I never do no matter what. What should I do?

MOD MOD
Ok so i have this friend.she is better at everything.she is a better dancer,musician,artist,writer,runner,she is taller than me, her hair is prettier than mine, she's skinnier than me, and she is even faster than me in swimming (she doesn't even swim.i hav been swimming for 4 years).I am a pretty good writer, but i am constantly compared to her,we are in the same english class, and i always come up short.It really is truely hard 2 be compared to her. It really really hurts. I need help should i talk to her about it. I've also decided to give up writing because i hate being compared to her writing. PLEASE HELP!!!!

Hey Sarah,

Talking to her about it might not help in this situation - if she doesn't brag or rub it in your face, she isn't at fault at all. Instead, it might be the way you're approaching the situation that needs some work. Read this article, which is a LOT like your sitch. I think it'll really help ya see it in a new way <3

I hope your teacher isn't picking favorites my chorus teacher did that, I knew each time I tried out for solos or dancing she wouldn't pick me no matter how good I was because I wasn't a favorite.

MOD I really wanna fit in and be cool. I always feel awkward when I'm talking with people I've never met before or not good friends with. I really wanna bring out the true me, but I'm too shy! I'm hardly outgoing enough to answer a Q my teacher asks me! HELP!

 

Hey chica, I totally hear ya. I used to be the exact same way. For me, it came with time. As you get older and figure out more about yourself, you'll be more confident. Just be yourself and try to find common interests with people that will start convos. I'm sure you are very cool just as you are, despite what you think Smile

o.k this is off subject but... i have this friend and a while back she got a text from this guy and he thought she was someone else she said she wasn't who he was looking for but now they text all the time. i told its dangerous because she doesn't know who he is but she doesn't listen. now its getting serious... i think she told him her name and what grade she is in. me and all of her other BFFs tell her she shouldn't text him but she doesn't listen... she said "he seems really nice!" Im afraid of what this could turn into!

Hey girl! I would continue to warn my friend to be careful. Does she know a lot about this guy? If she doesn't, the sitch can get dangerous. Also tell her not to reveal that much about herself without really knowing the guy! And if she doesn't know him, she definitely should not meet him alone!
