wow. i would seriously just tell her to back off. friends should be welcome to tell eachother things because they want to share it with eachother... not invade privacy and sneak around in their friend's personal business. i would not stand for a person like that. sometimes people do stupid things in a joking manner but if u dont think its funny and it continues.. tell her ur done being her friend and that u dont need someone who doesnt give u the respect u deserve.

Th at doesnt really sound like a "BFF" to me!! And if she still tries to read it the best thing to do is find a new frined who will respect oyur privacy. Or you can just hide it somewhere she will NEVER find. Or put a lock on it and you hide the key that opens it.

Hey girl, 1) you need to have a heart-to-heart with him. Break-ups are never easy and are seldom taken well. That said, you need to find the strength to do it. Peg it on you or timing if you need to or just say you need to take some time to really find yourself. Then give yourself some distance. It'll help you both get over it. 2) That's def a big thing and it may take time before your mom tells you. It's important, however, to be mature about it and understand she may not tell you now. Tell her that you understand that it's a really hard thing, but you feel like half of you is missing. Ask her what age you can know (she may let you know at 16, for instance) and if she wants to talk about it. Emphasize how important this is to you. You understand they may not have had a good past together, but he is your father and while relationships come and go, that won't change.

1. i really want to get a facebook. ive asked me dad several times, but he always says we'll see and never gives me a answer. he has one, and he wold have to be able to go on and check it, just like my email, so hes not alowed to use any excuses like that. any ideas?
2. i really want to get a blue, purple, or pink streak in my hair, but my mom says i would look stupid. i dont find it stupid looking at all, and ive seen kids at my school with more than just a streak. one kid had his whole head dyed blue. im willing to pay for everything, and i know where to get dye and am willing to do research for perfesionals. and ideas?




Hey girl, he's just making "excuses" because Facebook, depending on how it's used can be as dangerous as myspace or any of those. He's just being a protective father. It's okay all fathers are, just means he loves you! I think you should come up with an agreement with him, or write him a note with all your thoughts. Like a compromise so that if he uncomfortable he can check your Facebook and all that jazz. -- I went through the same exact thing with hair trends. I wanted my whole head all sorts of different colors for like 4 years straight. My mom HATED the idea. I never really got to, but looking back on it I was kind of glad I didn't. BUT if its something you really want to do, try explaining to her its your hair and it will grow right back. You can even do the temporary dye which will only stay in for 2 weeks max.

If my Bff read my diary I would just away and just not speak to her. if she had the guts to go through my stuff then she should have the guts to deal with the consequence. That is just horrible to do that. It is even bad when a sibling does that.I have a twin sister and she used to read it all the time then i got a new one and began switching back and forth between a couple of them so she would never know which one had the most recent stuff that i had writtend. Eventually she stopped and that was pretty much the end of that. If you have a friend that reads your diary i think it is a sign that you should get a new friend. One that you deserve. No one should have to deal with a friend who reads your diary. It is totally uncalled for.

1. Theres this guy that I go to school with and he has asked me out twice... 1st- My BFF did it for him and 2nd- In person.... I think I'm kinda starting to like him... No one should read any ones diary but you can see why its so tempting. I had a chance to read one of my friends diary when i was at her house but I didnt. Its tough not to want to hear what are friends private secrete are. But we shouldnt do it. It would be like our friends reading and hearing our private online chats that we have with some people, I wouldnt want that happening.

A lot of my friends at church are in dance. We have church on wednesdays and sundays. Their dance schedule has changed to having classes every day of the week (mon-fri). I never get to see them! everyime i want to hang, its the same stupid excuse from everyone "I have dance." I t makes me mad. and one of my friends goes to a different church on sundays so i will definetly not get to see her.
when their all together all they do is talk about dance and im always left out. like one time we were having this big sleepover and one said "if your in dance go upstairs!" I was the only one ho wasnt up there and when i went up to see what was goin on they told me to leave... I didnt even know the girl they were talkin about




These girls sound mean...you're better off without them.  Unfortunately, it's natural to bond more quickly with people you have a lot in common with.  They all share a passion for dance and see each other EVERY day.  Look for friends that you have more in common with.  If you don't have a hobby that lets you meet lots of people, find one!  You can make friends through church, an after-school club, or sport.

theres a big semi formal and i had asked my 3 bffs if they wanted 2 get their nails done. they said they couldnt. i just found out that they planned to go together. my school is based on cliques and the 4 of us is 1. i feel compleatly left out. 1 girl said that "i had dance so i wouldnt be able to hang anywa" but i dance w/ 1 of the other girls and shes going. i feel so left out so please help!

Is there a particular group of girls in your grade or school that rules the school when they REALLY don't deserve to. Translation: Is there a clique of girls in your school/grade that is the most popular but they are rude to other people? I would just tell her right of the bat. Be honest and let her see that this is really hurting your feelings. If it's locked then how does she get in? If she has access to key make sure that it is off limits. You could wear it around your neck.

Hey girl, I'm a big Pixar fan (and with Toy Story 3 coming out, there's no better time to catch up on classics) so why not do a marathon? Movies like Monsters Inc., Toy Story, Wall-E, Ratatouille and Up are funny and still make even me and my sis (two college kids) laugh and smile. They're timeless.

Thank you for answering my first MOD but I have another question related to it.
When I try to explain why or how I feel uncomfortable I cant find the right words. I don't think he's gonna abuse me or anything I just don't like him. He makes me feel stupid and everything I say he says is wrong and when I sit in a chair or something that he was sitting in earlier I feel dirty. I don't know if thats a good reason or explanation or what.




Maybe you can try talking to him directly about it. Let him know you don't appreciate when he makes you feel stupid. Maybe if you get to know eachother better, you will come to an understanding and feel more comfortable.

Hey girl! Sorry you are feeling uncomfortable around your mom's bf. Have you tried to figure out what it is that is making you uncomfortable? Maybe once you figure it out you will be able to fix the problem. You just have to remember that your mom is happy, so you need to try your best to make do with the living arrangements, unless there is a serious problem such as abuse happening.

MODMOD. Okay so I was going to send this question to to Ask Lucky and it said click the purple button, but there isn't a purple button!! So instead I'm just going to post that here if its okay: Okay so I have a prob. I live in a tiny little town with no connections, but I really want to display my talent. I have no idea how, since my town is small and stuff. I mean I can sing, play piano, act, and I'm currently working on a novel, and I write poems, but I have no way of creatively expressing my self to others because there aren't any opportunities where I live. What should I do?

 

Hey chica, a great way to put yourself out there is via Youtube. I'm serious, there have been a lot of people who have become famous just by posting some vids. So ask permission from the 'rents and maybe they'll help you post some vids of you performing. Also starting a blog is great for getting your writing out there too. Hope this helped!

sorry Mod, one more thing.
So the guy I like and I are going with a small group to a big theatre conference in a couple weeks. He's going to be one of the few straight guys there, with a lot of straight girls. He's really a flirt. I know it's bad, but I get super jealous when I see him with other girls. I realize I shouldn't, especially since we're not dating (yet) but idk what to do... cause I don't really know if I can ask him out and we can really become bf/gf before then so I have a reason to be jealous, or how I can not be so jealous... Hey chica, if you're jealous, then it means you have something for this guy, and should try asking him out before the conference. That way, you won't get jealous because he'll be with you!

Okay thanks for the advice, but how would you suggest I ask him out since I've never had a boyfriend? And I'm not so sure how I would explain it to my parents (they like him cause they're friends with his parents, but I'm the oldest and my parents are pretty overprotective because of it.)

 

Hey girl, if your uncomfortable with face to face encounters you can try text or IM. If you feel like he may not respond try asking him in person if he would go with you to somewhere you know he might be interested in. For example you said you guys were in the play so maybe go to the theater or the movies. You can casually tell him your other friend bailed on you.

So I really like this guy, for almost 6 months now... I had class with him every day, so I saw him a lot, but now it's summer. I realize that I am going to get to see him for a week (cause we're going on a school trip together) and a lot at the end of the summer (cause he's the lead in the show that I'm assistant stage managing) but I wish I could talk to him more. I try texting him or messaging him online, but he doesn't always reply, or if he replys, it's only twice and he never responds back... because of this, I barely text him because I feel that he won't text back or he'll think I'm creepy for texting him all the time. Oh, and I don't know whether or not he knows I like him, but we are pretty good friends. Please help!

 

Hey girl, it seems like your making the right moves to try and make a connection with him. The only thing left to do is to ask him out. I know girls like guys to make the first move or ask them out first but, we are in a new age of female empowerment. Give it a try, you should get an answer much sooner than not saying anything at all.

Hey girl, they might not be taking you seriously when you tell them to back off.  Let them know that it hurts your feelings when they make these jokes and if they still don't stop then they aren't your real friends and you deserve better ones.

help my schools picnic at a swim club is today and I want to swim but I just started my period! I've had it before and it's pretty light but I hate tampons. Do u think it's okay if I wear a pad? It doesn't show and I'll change it often.




Hey Girl, I'm sorry you got it during this time, but I don't think pads are a good choice. For starters you'd see it, you'd feel self conscious and also it's meant to absorb liquids so as soon as you get in the water i'd get super puffy and gross. I think they might have certain tampons for swimming that you may want to check out. Good Luck!

Hey girl, I totally understand feeling self-conscious.  The funny thing is, when you're at a swimming party, the other girls might be feeling self-concious too, so they will probably be more focused on how they look than on how you do!  We're all in the same boat.  Consider the things that make you different (like your glasses) special - it makes you unique.  And don't let any flaws you think you have stop you from having fun.  You're beautiful the way you are.

Hey Girl, I don't you need to rush and use tampons if pads work better for you. But if you really feel strongly about it and want to use tampons express to your mom why. Why are tampons better? Why will they make you feel more comfortable or less self conscious? And possibly ask her why she wants you to wait, maybe she has a really good reasoning for her choice that you can learn from. OH MY GOSH MOOOD! This is really embarrassing, but my mom got me tampons today and it took a really long time to get in, but its finally in and now im panicking i have TSS!!! it won't come out and I'm really squeemish and shaky right now... what do i do?!?!? i want this thing OUT of me!!!! thanks so much!!!

 

Hey babe,

First off...RELAX!  TSS is serious, but it is also very rare.  How long have you had the tampon in?  If it's been under 8 or 9 hours, I'm sure you'll be fine.  Chances are your body is just adjusting to the tampon - when I used a tampon for the first time, it took a while to insert it and it took me a LONG time to get the guts to pull it out.  Relax your muscles, then be gentle but firm when you grab the string and pull.  Do it slowly and be prepared for it to be slightly uncomfortable or to feel "weird" - your body is stretching and will get used to it, but it might be a little uncomfy at first.  You're just feeling that way because you're nervous and letting yourself feel anxious.  If you relax, take a deep breath, and commit to it, it will go a LOT easier!

MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD hi my school's picnic is tomorrow. This seems weird, but I'm self consious about wearing glasses. None of my friends or other girls in my grade wear them and sometimes I feel like the other girls judge me a bit. We r going swimming, and to swim I have to take off my glasses. I have dark circles under my eyes and I'm worried people will think I look weird or comment something mean. Please help!

My best friend basically chose her boyfriend over me Frown we were best friends for about 2 years, and then she met him. Everyone even tells me she chose him over me but it's just so hard for me to believe because we were REALLY close. It sucks Frown and everytime I talk to her about it, she denies it. So it's pointless. What's the best way for me to move on? She obviously wasn't a good friend.




You should try to meet other people and not think about her. When it doesn't work out with her boyfriend, she will realize she made a mistake. Until then, let her find that out for herself.
