How to break it to your bestie that her sweetie isn't so, well, sweet

We all love our friends and want them to be happy. It is our duty as a loyal friend to make sure of this, so what do you do when your friend doesn't realize that their boyfriend/girlfriend is just not good for them? Well, a little intervention may be in order. Here's how to go about it correctly and, you know, without starting unncecessary drama.

Analyze the sitch
Ask yourself: Does the relationship make your friend genuinely happy? If you know that the answer is "no," then there’s your first red flag. It's likely that your friend is swimming in a pool of feelings and is either unable to see that they are being treated poorly or is willing to deal with it because it’s not a big deal/they're in love/it's normal/etc.

Re-evaluate
Be sure of what you are about to say when you decide to confront your friend. You don’t want to ruin a relationship or, like we mentioned earlier, create drama for something you're not sure about. Also ask yourself if you're really concerned for your friend's feelings or if you simply don't like the person your friend is dating for a petty reason.

Have proof
You're about to drop some heavy information on your friend. Often times, if your friend has stuck through a bad relationship, she is probably blinded by feelings and emotions. Have proof, evidence and facts to support any claims you make about the relationship to combat this.

Go face-to-face
Leave no room for a misunderstanding. Do not have this conversation via text, Snapchat, DMs or anywhere else in the virtual world. Make sure you do this in person. It's the best way to get the info across and you'll be able to be there for your friend should she get upset.
