MAKE IT CUTE

DIYs

This eco-friendly art project is unbelievably cool

Almost every house has “the” drawer—the one that’s filled with plastic bags from every store in your town, stowed away because "you might need them someday." Turns out, that day is today—and the purpose is way cooler than a thrifty makeshift rain bonnett (oh, Grandma).

Plastic bags can be used to make "plarn," or plastic yarn, employable in all of your knitting and crocheting projects.  Plus, it's *so* easy...and way cheaper than nice yarn, which can get super pricey.

What you’ll need:

• Clean plastic bag(s); use multiple designs to add some pizazz to your look

• Scissors

• Knitting or crochet needle

Directions:

1. Cut both the bottom of the plastic bag and the top where the handles are.

2. Fold the bag 3-4 times and cut it into 1-5 cm wide strips. These strips will be tubular.

3. Overlap the pieces of plastic over one another.

4. Fold one piece of plastic in half over the other, then slide through until they're tightly connected.

5. Repeat until you have a longer strand.

6. Use a needle to begin either crocheting or knitting.
