One crafty girl boss reveals her top 10 DIY secrets

Hey DIY fanatics, we think we’ve found your new role model. Meet Leandra McNair, entrepreneur and DIY *master* (she made that amaze backdrop above!). And when we mean master, we don’t just mean that she’s fab at DIYs (which she is), but we're also talking about one heck of a girl boss who created her own crafty company called Fun Paper Petals. Can we talk about life goals?

Less than a year after she started making gorgeous paper flowers, she turned her hobby of DIY-ing into a serious business and as it continues to grow, she cannot wait to see what the future holds. If you want to follow in Leandra's footsteps, now you canshe shared her top 10 tips for becoming a Pinterest-worthy maker. Check them out, then try your own hand at designing a beautiful blossom with her vid tutorial.

1. Make a schedule for yourself.
“I try to prioritize my time and only spend a certain amount of time on each task”

2. Use checklists.
“Checklists help me keep my thoughts organized. And it always feels good to check tasks off my list.”

3. Take breaks.
“It’s so important to let your mind relax for at least 15 minutes several times a day. On of my favorite breaks are dance breaks!”

4. Have fun!
“Use that amazing imagination you've got. If you're getting frustrated with your current project, put it down and try a new one. I do this all the time and I think it's a great way to get out of your own head.”

5. Stay inspired.
“Instagram, Tumblr and Pinterest are my favorite places to find some inspo.”

6. Drink a lot of water.
“Hydration is *key*. I always keep a bottle of water with me with some lemon or lime. Teavana tea is another one of my must haves.”

7. Keep your workspace clean.
“This is a great tip to stay organized and keep you inspired. It helps me to set up my desk area with a few cute pieces from Target or Marshalls.”

8. Phone a friend.
“Invite some of your closest friends over for a night of DIYs or crafts. And obviously don't forget the snacks.”

9. Sit back and smell the roses.
“I start my day with a moment of gratitude. I'm thankful to the universe and to myself that I have the ability to create.”

10. Get active.
“Get the blood flowing and release some stress with exercise. Movement helps with everything and you'll feel so much better on a day-to-day basis.”

Ok...your turn!
