LIFE

Dear Carol

"Dear Carol, how do I end my long-distance relationship?"

Dear Carol,
I've been in a long-distance relationship with a "bad boy" for about a year and a half. We live more than 1,500 miles apart. His mom used to be my mom's friend. I love him, but he's not really a trustworthy person and he has manipulated me emotionally. Whenever I think things have changed, he proves me wrong. Suppodedly, he's trying to move near where I live.
—Going the Distance?

Dear Going the Distance?,
Trust your gut. You know this is bad boy is not good news. Even though you care about him, if you don't want to be his girlfriend, be clear. You can say, "I wish you well, but I don't want us to keep going out." The point is: You aren't stuck. Reread your letter. You'll realize you sound more upset than in love.
