5 shows to watch with your fam

Ever feel like watching TV with your parents always ends up being a little bit awkward or unenjoyable? While you might want to be watching PLL, they probably want to watch the news, or turn on cartoons for your younger sibs. Instead of having to suffer through another episode of Dora, we've rounded up a list of the best TV shows that your whole fam can enjoy together.

Modern Family
Currently on its eighth season, this "mockumentary" is a hilarious take on family life through the stories of a gay couple, a straight couple and a multicultural couple. You'll all be laughing as you follow the three families' journeys.

The Middle
Another ABC comedy series on its eighth season, The Middle, focuses on the Heck family and their life in an Indiana suburb. The family consists of three children: Axl, Sue, and Brick. Axl is the mischievous, rebellious and lazy oldest child, Sue is the is the dorky, socially awkward middle child and Brick is the seven-year-old brother whose best friend is a book. It's relatable and warm without being overly sentimental.

Full House
This one is an *obvious* choice. For those of you not in the know: The popular sitcom chronicles a widowed father, Danny Tanner, who enlists his best friend and brother-in-law to help raise his three daughters, D.J, Stephanie and Michelle. The series ended in 199, but thankfully Netflix has rebooted it with the spin-off show Fuller House. It really is a timless classic. Plus, the Olsen twins are so adorable!

The Fosters
The Freeform family drama is a compelling show about a multi-ethnic family mix of foster and biological teenaged kids being raised by two moms. Currently on the fourth season, it's earnest and funny while still leaving you wanting more with all of its cliffhangers.

Switched at Birth
Another show on Freeform, Switched at Birth tells the story of two teenage girls who discover they were accidentally switched as newborns in the hospital. It's truly unique to any other show, given that it is one of the only TV shows to ever feature not just a deaf character but multiple deaf actors. Everyone from your little bro to your mom will love it.
