How to have a drama free school year

As much as we love Gossip Girl, those types of girls IRL can make the school year a drag. If you’re tired of all the talking, fighting and whispering, we’ve got four easy tips on how to have a drama free school year.

When you hear gossip, stay quiet.
It’s hard to not engage in juicy conversation especially when you have a mouthful for everyone to hear, but staying out of the convo leads to less misheard things. The last thing you want is for someone twisting your words and making you look like the bad guy if it’s not how you meant it.

Leave the group chat.
It’s a great feeling to have texts constantly popping up on your phone, but it there’s some nasty things being said about someone just get out of there. The consequences can be huge if something is said about someone and it results in authority figures stepping in and you’re on the list of people in the conversation. To save yourself the drama, just leave the group.

If you need to talk, talk to family.
Obviously if something is bothering you and you’re going to burst, talk about it. Talking to family is a great way to get out your frustrations. Get closer to your mom and tell her what’s going on in your life. She’s likely dealt with the same problems, and she’s never going to spill the beans.

When it’s really bad, tell an adult.
So many times we can be bystanders of someone intentionally getting hurt. Everyone has feelings, so if you see something happening that’s more than just silly drama tell someone. If you have the chance to make a difference in someone's life, do it.
