We Tried It: Meditation
Stress much? I hear ya. As much as I love yoga and running, I’m still a bundle of nerves at the end of the day. Lately, I’ve been reading a lot about meditation, so I decided to give it a go myself.
Turns out, meditation isn’t as easy as it looks. Sure, you’re just sort of sitting there (easiest thing I’ve done all day!), but you’re also working to clear your mind. I decided to try a 5 minute meditation (it’s best to start small). I turned off all of my gadgets and pulled up a seat on in the living room. I’ve been practicing yoga for a looong time, so sitting still and focusing wasn’t that hard.
The tough part? I didn’t feel like I’d accomplished anything. Meditation is something you have to commit to, so a simple 5 minute sesh isn’t gonna overhaul your life. With regular practice, though, you can zap stress and anxiety. Plus, it’s supposed to be beneficial if you’re getting over a fear. The bottom line? I’m sticking with meditation—at least for a while.
