This Turkey Day vacay: host a friendsgiving feast!
Invite your dearest darlings
Go old-school with traced-hand turkeys decorated with construction paper feathers. For a sweet, sentimental touch, scribble down some memories of you ‘n’ your chicas from way back when.
Deck the walls
Ask Mom and Dad if you can stow the family pics for an afternoon and replace ‘em with snaps of you and your sweeties. Blow up your favorites at Kinko’s or another copy and printing center, and let your friends doodle and write down memories with Sharpies.
The T-Giving touch
Write each guest’s name on a 4”x6” piece of cardstock, folded in half. As friends arrive, hand them someone else’s place card. Ask that person to write inside what they’re thankful for about the other person. Read them all aloud before you dig in.
Good eats
No need to cook! Serve the ultimate Thanksgiving leftover creation: The Turkey Terrific. Start with two slices of artisanal white bread. Smear one slice with a bit of herb mayo and the other with cranberry sauce. On the mayo side, add a layer of stuffing (warm in the microwave first). On the cranberry side, pile on cold slices of carved turkey, then pop on top of the mayo/stuffing combo. Serve with leftover sides, sparkling cider and, for dessert, our easy apple tart.
