How do I get rid of period odors?

Check these out, too...

Every time I get my period, it smells really bad down there? Is there anything I can do about it? Should I see a doctor?

Hey girlie! Lots of women notice a not-so-nice smell during their periods. It’s nothing to be too concerned about. The distinct smell is often caused by different amounts of iron in your blood.

If you’re a pad-lover, make sure you are switching your pad often. You can also pick up a box of scented pads to help out. Also, during your period, make sure you’re staying clean. Remember to soap up in the shower every day. You can pick up some feminine cleansing cloths from any drugstore to use in between showers.

Tampons may be your best bet for fighting the odor. Just like pads, you can get tampons that have a little scent to help you cinch the smell. Try out a few different ones and see what works best for you.

If you try out all these tips and you still aren’t comfy with what you’re sniffing, take a trip to the doc. While your prob is almost always natural, it may also be a sign of a slight infection. Don’t be nervous to swing by and get a check up. Doctors deal with your sitch all the time and they will be able to tell you more about what’s going on with your bod.

I really need help. I really want to tell my mom that I have a boyfriend but I think that she will get mad or something. I have never told her I have had a boyfriend and I have been going out with him for 3 months. She said her first boyfriend was when she was 16 and im 13 so she will say im too young to have a boyfriend! How should I start the converstaion? What should I say after? Please help! Thanks!

Hey girl! Just tell your mom you want to talk to her about a boy. Tell her you've developed feelings for a boy and he feels the same way about you. Make sure she knows that you understand that you are young and you aren't getting serious with him, but you like him enough for him to be your boyfriend. Hopefully she will understand.

hey girl! When you and your mom are sitting there, say "mom, I want to talk to you about something..." Waiting for her to intiate a convo about it could take forever, so start it yourself. I know you might feel kinda nervous about it, but keep in mind, she was in your spot before too. She'll feel glad that you're comign to her, and I'm sure she'd be glad to help. best, Kristen <3

hey girl! If you really want to talk to her, but you're nervous, it might be best to put yourself in a situation where you can't really back out. If you tell her you want to talk, then you have no excuse for putting it off even longer than you want to. But if you want to go about it another way, write down all your thoughts and leave her a letter that you know she'll find. MODMODMOD ok so i cant talk to my mom writer her a note or send her a text.im to scared im was gonna wait till my sis got her period so my mom wou;d be more familiar and id have my sis to talk to to but idk wen that wil be but it wiill bbe soon .She already told me that. and ive been having cramps, moodswings, and discharge plus realy bad headaches does that mean ill get my period soon. and one more thing does anybody actuly like "that time of the month" because im so excited for it . thnx for taking the time 2 read my long and very stange comment plz anwser

Yup your period should be coming soon. Some girls do like their "time of the month" because they view it as their admittance into womanhood, other girls dread it because they get so sick. No problem girl, I'm here to help you out, no matter how long or short your question is.

Hey chicky, yes you should defintely talk to your mom. Your mom is a woman and she's been through it all before so she'll know how to help you. Since you're a little nervous about facing her, write her a letter, send a text or give her an email.

latly my under arms have been smelly, and I've been get cramps, but I'm still kinda young to have a period, is that good, bad , or does it mean I might start my period soon?

Hey girl! Sounds like you're starting to go through puberty. Getting your period is a part of puberty but it may not come til later if you're still young. It's always good to be prepared and keep some pads in your backpack though!

MOD MOD MOD ok so my discharge comes out clear but when it dryes it's white ish yellow is that normal and how long do u usualy have discharge b4 ur period

Hey chica, sorry it took me so long to answer this one. You should use a razor that has the cushioning on the side, to prevent yourself from getting cut. Be sure to use shaving cream too.

yeah it sometimes does smell UGH! but its okay coz it's natural and pretty much every girl has it! (and me!) its not very nice, but you will find ways to get rid of it, like scented pads, or other stuff.

I use feminine wipes a lot and I shave my entire area down there so I dont have any hair that might also trap in odors.

Does anyone else who shaves down there think that shaving helps with reducing the odor a little because I do?
