A Day in the Life of a GL Intern: Ads AND Fashion

Hey girls! My name is Allee and I’m an intern at GL. I’ve been here for a little over a month and I still can’t believe it! I grew up reading magazines (including Girls' Life!) that had fantastic fashion, boy, beauty and life advice.

It has always been my dream to work at a magazine, so I never thought I would get to intern at such a great place like GL in college!

Jumpstarting my dreams!

I’m a junior at Towson University majoring in advertising and public relations. When I heard about the opportunity to intern at GL, I couldn’t believe I could work for such an awesome mag—especially one that has some of my fave girls on the cover (Hey, Taylor and Selena!). My dream job is to work in public relations or advertising at a magazine in L.A., so the experience here at Girls' Life is perfect!

All about advertising

At GL, I spend half of the day working with the advertising ladies. It’s great to take what I learn in school and apply it here. I get to see what fun stuff is going to be featured in the Daily Giveaways and what companies can’t wait to feature their latest products in the magazine! I have also gotten to work on the new GL on Your Cell campaign!

Fash and beauty galore

I spend the rest of my day working with the fashion and beauty team. It is so fun because I <3 clothes and shopping, so I get to spend sooo much time looking for the latest fashions and newest beauty products to feature on the web. I have even gotten the opportunity to write some articles for Cheap & Chic and Beauty 911! It’s so awesome to write about things that I love.

Working at Girls’ Life is such a dream come true! I’m learning about the magazine world and getting experience that I wouldn’t be able to get anywhere else. Plus, I’m having so much fun doing it! So dream big girls, you never know what could happen!

At 9:55 AM a FedEx delivery man came into my office. He was cute, polite and could not stop smiling at me. He started coming back almost everyday (even without packages) and asked me out a week later. We married 6 months later and now have been happily married for 2 years. What a great email it was!!... Ohh, you look so lucky! It'd be amaazing to look through the beauty bins...bins just filled with make up! If I go to college near your offices, and I'm majoring in anything that may apply to magazines....I'd so sign up to be an intern!

Welcome 2 GL's very first newspaper!! Keep on reading 4 all of the deets-believe me u wont regret it!;)

First things First~
I am holding a contest for the name of the newspaper! All u gotta do is post what u think the name should b on my profile!
