I blush like crazy! How can I stop it?

I ALWAYS blush. Whether I'm with a guy or in front of a crowd. But today in theater, I was reading lines with a weird guy. I started blushing like crazy! Now everyone thinks I like him. Is there any way to stop the blushing madness?

There’s that dreaded feeling again. Your heart beats a tad faster and your face starts to feel warm. Once everyone else sees your blush, you’re likely to blush even more! Sound familiar?

Blushing is a completely normal reaction. Unlike trying to pick up a glass of water or kick a soccer ball, blushing is involuntary. It’s not something you try to do, it just happens. When you’re embarrassed, your body releases adrenaline. This causes your heart to speed up a bit and also improves blood flow in your body and to your face.

Besides surgery (which is a bit extreme, no?), there’s no definite way to stop blushing. But, try to work on calming yourself down quickly. Whether you need to take a few deep breaths or concentrate on something else, you might be able to keep your emotions in check, preventing you from blushing as much.
