Send a message: Chalkboard picture frame

 
Got something to say? With this chic ‘n’ easy craft, you can transform any frame, old or new, into a sketchpad, a notebook, a to-do list or a work of art.

 

What you’ll need:

 

1 frame

1 mat cut to fit inside the frame of your choice

1 small can of chalkboard paint

1 paintbrush

Newspaper

Chalk

 

What you’ll do:

 

First, you need to pick out your frame. Grab an old one off of your dresser or head to a craft or thrift store and pick one up. Now you’ll need to buy a mat that fits inside of it. If you’ve got an oddly-sized frame or a frame with an unusual shape, you can use scissors or an exact-o knife to cute it down.

 

Painting time! Spread newspaper over your work surface, place the mat on the paper and get to work. Paint two coats of chalkboard paint on one side of the mat. When it’s completely dry, pop it into your frame.

 

What comes next is up to you. You can sketch your dog, write a note to your mom, scribble down your weekly chores—whatever you want! The best part is that all ya have to do to start over is erase. Easy peasy, right?

MOD MOD MOD! it's my parent's anniversary tues any ideas on a DIY gift? a couple ideas would be better then just 1! (im going to my local craft store tom) thanks so much your answer is greatly appreciated!!! Smile

 

 

Hey girly! I would get a big, plain wooden frame and some paint, and make a collage of photos of your rents, and even you guys. And, paint the outside of the frame to decorate it. I did that for my dad's birthday one year, and it looks great on the wall!

If you don't want to do that, you could always plan a "date night" for them, and make them a romantic dinner at your home Smile
