Grossed out by my clammy hands


I always get clammy hands when I'm nervous. I'm afraid that if I hold hands with a guy then he is going to think my hands are gross. Is there anything to use to stop clammy hands?

There are a couple of things you can do to ditch sweaty hands: Rub antiperspirant (not deodorant) on your hands is said to work, and you can talk to your doctor about certain prescription drugs that might help.

If your hands only get clammy when you’re nervous, though, it might be time to boost your confidence. Think about what makes you so nervous and why. When presented with a situation that makes you nervous, take a deep breath and give yourself a mental pep talk. Remember, babe, you’re fabulous! You can do this. You can do anything you put your mind to.

No matter how much deodorant I put on, a lot of the time I end up having wet pitted shirts. I'm embarrassed to lift my arms because the sweat is visible on the shirts. This happened whether or not I'm especially hot.




Hey girl,

At your local drugstore, you'll be able to find something called "clinical strength" deodorant. It's a more powerful deodorant that is recommended by lots of doctors for overactive sweating and other pit problems Smile Give it a try! If that doesn't work, try asking your doctor for suggestions. There are even stronger deodorants out there that they could write prescriptions for if they think you need it!

MOD MOD MOD! This is really embarrassing and I have never told anyone except my mom but, like i cant wear T shirts because i get like "sweat rings" around them and i wear deoderant all the time but it never helps and its really embarrassing. Im a normal girl and that is a problem that is not normal. I have to wear jackets to like school and i want to stop that but i cant because of the sweat. so please please help! :\




Hey girl,

You could try using more powerful, "clinical strength" deodorants to control the sweat. They're available at drugstores over-the-counter (which means you don't need a doctor's prescription), but you can also get even more powerful formulas by asking your doctor. If you don't want to do that, try layering with a thin undershirt or small tee under your actual shirt. It's a lil inconvenient, but layering is totally in right now - and that extra layer of fabric might help absorb most of the sweat for ya!

Hey girly! I'd load up on lean proteins ... like fish and chicken. And, pair that with some veggies and a good carb. Like, a sweet potato. Also, load up on fruits as much as you can Smile

I think I have some kind of eating disorder. I over eat all the time and then feel really bad about all the food I just ate. I don't resort to throwing it up or anything. I'm not overweight but I feel like I'm going to gain a lot of weight if I can't stop this habit. How can I stop?




Hey girlie,

Sometimes our emotions can cause us to do a lot of mindless eating.  Figure out what might be causing you to reach for food...are you stressed about something?  Is someone bothering you?  Are you unsatisfied with something in your life?  Learn to deal with those issues instead of using food as a "Band-Aid."  Remember that eating a lot of food will only make you feel sluggish...and think of food as fuel for your body!  Eat healthy and balanced meals...and go for a run or something if you are always tempted when you're around food.  You can always try popping in a piece of gum  or brushing your teeth to avoid overeating too.  Trust me, you can overcome this...just have self-control and learn to deal with other issues that may be triggering it!

I'm not popular, but my friend is and she invited me to her bday party. Its gonna be me and a bunch of popular girls. i don't care very much about being popular but i still want them to like me. i am nervous they are gonna think they are so much better than me and ignore me. what should i do?

Bonjour chicky! If you really want to impress these girls, all you have to do is show confidence. Like tigers, popular kids can smell fear and will attack you if you show it. But if you act like you belong with them and treat them like equals (and not royalty) then you will blend in perfectly. Just add to the conversation when needed and don't be afraid to give your opinion on any discussions they may have. Remember, you have every right to be there as they do and as long as you keep believing that, you'll be fine Smile

I resently noticed that I've been losing weight without trying to. I'm close enough to underweight, that I've been trying to gain weight. About a month ago I weighted myself at 120. Then today it said I was 108. I know my waist is smaller all my pants are much bigger (I've had to move over two belt slots, to keep my pants up). I'm 5'7 1/2. This has really started to scare me. What should I do about this cause I've always eatin' the same healthy food. All I've changed is eating a little more, but not too much more. Thanks

Mod! Ok so at volleyball practice my face gets really sweaty, especially on my forehead and chin. I always breakout in those places really bad. Is it because of the sweat? If so, how do i fix the problem?




Hey girlie. That could be a contributing factor. Make sure after practice you go home and wash your face. Or, grab some of the moist cleanser wipes (I think Neutrogena makes some) and bring them with you to practice.

my hands get sweaty to.i have been trying to make my hands look good so they look respectable and holdable!i put my hands in warm soapy water,then i get a nail brush and clean them.then i file them so they are all even and i paint them.BEAUTIFUL!(think thats how u spell it)

My friend's mom is throwing her a surprise birthday and I have no idea what to get her. She is a tom-boy, she wears a t-shirt, sweats and gymshoes every day. She refuses to wear anything else and same goes for her hair - it's super curly, so she wears it in a ponytail every day. I cant ask her what she wants because its a surprise party. Help!!!!

Hey girly girl! I'd try putting vasoline on your hands at night, and then putting gloves on to sleep in. Lather them up with loads of vasoline, and then put the gloves on to seal it in while you sleep Smile

Hey girly girl! It's totally normal to get nervous, and to have symptons like that. It can be hard to relax, but you need to remember that this guy is no better than you! You're FABULOUS! And, if he doesn't see that, then it's his loss. As for standing up in front of the class, I've found that it's better to pretend that you're talking to your friends. Or, just your teacher, and block out everyone else. If you can, look at the top of people's heads, rather than making eye contact Smile

Hey girly girl! I promise, this happens to everyone at some point! You have to realize that stuff like this isn't that important in the long run. When you're in your 20s, you won't even remember it! So, just focus on doing as well as you can, and don't try to be perfect.... it'll just stress you out.

Mod mod mod!!! I just got a samsung flight 2 today and it has a touch screen and a slide full keyboard. I got it for texting but my sister sent me a text and i haven't gotten it yet! it's been hours! I don't know what to do is it the phone? I wanted a phone to text friends and fam w/ but if it doesnt recieve texts then idk what to do. My dad doesn't believe in getting new phones, plus I dont want him to think I broke it!

 

 

Hey chickadee! It's very possible that it may lack of service in your area, or your sister's phone. Maybe ask your friends to text you, and see if you receive them. If not, then I'd go back to the store and talk to the service people. Your dad will understand that it's not your fault... it's a malfunction of the phone, if that's the case.

s EVEN WORSE. So what do I do without going to the doctor that's at home because my mom won't take me to the doctor because she said I didn't need it. Last night I had a dream about getting my period. Does this mean something, or nothing at all?
I've had discharge since 4th grade.( Now in 6th ) I get headahces and slight tummy aches. Shooting pains around the belly button area. I'm very moody and cry alot. I crave salty foods and sweet foods. I can never fall asleep at night. I'm always hungry too!I get mad at people tons too. And always sleepy! Is my period near? Both my sisters got their period at age 12. Could I get mine at 12? My mom got hers at 15. Help...

heyy, i am going to a birthday party next weekend for one of my friends from dance. its right after dance and so me and my friend are in different classes than her so we are going together. i dont know what to get her though!!! she says she wants hand sanitizer from Bath and Body Works, but I want to get her something else too. She's fun and crazy and I love her so do you have any ideas on what scents would be good? Also, we are going skating from 7-11 at night, so what should I wear??? Thanks!!!
