Personalize your back-to-school supplies

Viva glam binder

Wanna take your binders and folders to a whole new level? Grab some paper and decorative accents and get to work!

 

How we did it: We turned the front of our binder into a grid of squares, then cut and pasted different colored paper on top. We used Sharpie markers to create designs on the squares, and to write messages on the front. Glitter pens filled in our bubble letters and dab of glue on the back of some rhinestones gave us some sparkle. Add some ribbon tied into a bow, and you’ve got a binder you’ll be proudly toting to first period!

 

More great ideas: Try cutting out and collaging images and words from your favorite magazine (um, GL!). Look for things that inspire you to perform well and achieve your goals. Talk about girl power!

 

 

So-chic book cover

Who wants a planner that looks like everyone elses? We took 10 minutes to turn our organizer into a work of art.

 

How we did it: We found some fun pink polka-dotted fabric at a craft store. Then we laid our open book flat over the fabric, cover against the wrong side of the print, and began wrapping it just like we would a present, neatly folding and hot gluing the corners down. You can glue it straight to the planner itself or to the fabric to make the cover reusable. When our fabric was ready to go, we grabbed a few items from our craft box—ribbon and a big iron-on “B”—and tacked those down with hot glue. Perfecto!

 

More great ideas: Use fun ribbon to spell out your name on the front, or head to the store to see what kind of decorations you can find. Check out the scrapbooking aisle for some unusual notions.

I want to try this out for my school supplies, but I got only med binders, folders, notebooks! It's waterproof so what can I do to make it look unique?? Plz answer, last time I tried, it didn't appear! PLz help!!

 

Hey girlie! Why not try using colored duct tape or electrical tape to cover your school supplies?  You can also head to the scrapbook store and get cool stickers to decorate it. xoxo

Okay so this fall im playing volleyball. I was on a team in the beginning of the summer and im super excited to play again. I know that they are probably going to make us run. When I played in the early summer, they made us do suicides for 5 minutes, and I was the last one, behind the girl with asthma. I am running to lose weight now, but its been kinda hard because the past few weeks we have been getting evening storms, and the past couple of nights there has been bad lightening. Its too hot to run anytime before. But thats not really the problem. I usually dont do to bad in pace, I just dont have a lot of stamina and endurance. I want to know, what is an easy way to gain more stamina and endurance? And any possible advice not to sound like Darth Vader after im done running? Any help will be greatly appriciated Smile

Practice makes perfect, so if you keep running regularly you will build stamina and not pant so heavily! But don't compare yourself to the other girls at your camp, just work on improving your personal goals!

SO last year i had a huge crush on this guy, and he still thinks i like him and i DON'T. On friday he was insulting me...again. I got really tired of all the nasty comments he says about me, so I kicked him in the leg. I felt pretty bad afterwards but i think i finally got my point through that i don't like him and he needs to stop insulting me. Today on the bus he tried to move someone's stuff so that i could sit in front of him...but then he said "Oh yeah, you're mad at me." He keeps sending me mixed signals and I don't know what to think! Help!

for my birthday I got Taylor Swift concert tickets the concert is this saturday im working on my poster righ now cuz im at home cuz im sick so for my poster I was thinking of putting "Taylor you are my superhero" because of her song superman. Taylor is in giant foam letter with glitter, I have a black foam poster board, 3 sets of poster lights, and 105 glow sticks so on my poster Im using rinestones to spell out you are my superhero and Im using the poster lights on top of reflective tape to make them shine more and stuff Im coviring myself in glow sticks I really want to get noticed by Taylor's Mom and hopefully get T Party passes but I know that that is a 1 in 60,000 chance so yah do you think I need anything else for the concert ? oh and Im making a t shirt that on the front says Taylor You are my Superhero and on the back it says speak now 10-8-11 and Fearless 3-11-10 cuz Thats when I saw her on the fearless tour and when im seeing her on saturday. MOD MOD MOD so in two weeks we are having family over for a week. my aunt is one of them. so my cousin who lives in my town is 9 and a big brat. I am 15. so we have people staying at our house. For some or all of the week my aunt is staying at my cousins house (even though it would be better for her to be at my house cuz there is more room. anyway i dont really care where she stays but the thing is my cousin rubs it in my face and that makes me so mad and makes me want my aunt at my house so my cousin will shut up. she is so competitive and jealous of my because i am older and get to do "big girl stuff".the thing is whenever my aunt comes my cousin clings to her and i rarely get to spend time with my aunt unless she stays at my house. I did go to disney world with her last all but she was making our trip special because mu cousins little bro went fo make a wish and that special. so how can i spen time with my aunt. she knows how bratty my cousin is and is annoyed cuz she clings toher

First off, when your cousin tries to rub it in that your aunt is staying with her, be as cool as possible. Don't let it make you upset at all and I promise she'll stop! Just say "She can stay wherever she wants, I'm totally cool with her staying with you. Hope you guys are having a good time!" and let it go. To be honest, that's a boring response - it's not something your cousin will get any satisfaction out of. And that's exactly what you want!




As for spending time with your aunt, try giving her a call at your cousins' house. Get her on the phone, then ask if you can schedule some time together for the next day. You could go shopping, grab lunch...whatever you two like to do. And it's totally fine to say "I'd love to get some one-on-one time while you're visiting...it's so nice to see you!" That way, your cuz doesn't unexpectedly tag along Smile

the colors in this article are not the colors to go together... it kind of clashes and it looks bad.. if i could reccommend some colors that got ogether i would pick hot pink, orange, and yellow also lighter/softer colors are light blue, light purple, and light green... also the notebook (first pic)looks like the bow would fall off or rip... maybe customize your notebooks by putting rubberbands on it an you can put pictures in it or pens

ok i am going into 8th grade and i want anew theme for my locker i am getting a mirror i have some shelves and i am also gettinga dry earse board..... i was thinking about doing zebra print in the inside..... i only get this for one year so need something that is fab and i dont have to worry about making a big mess......

MOD MOD MOD!!!! I need a new bed cause mine is about 5 years old. It's not comfortable. I got new pillows, but that didn't help. My bed creaks a lot when you move so it wakes me up in the middle of the night when I roll over. The new bed that I want will save space(I have a small room). It is a loft bed with a desk and everything under it. But I don't want to ask because it costs $1800. How do I ask without my parents getting angry?




If you make a good enough arguement for the bed im sure they might be willing.  Also maybe try to find one for cheaper somewhere. Or say youll do chores to pay it off. Try to compromise and im sure youll get your bed. xoxo kerra

How to convince my parents to let me go camping with my best friend for 3 days?
I realllly wanna go camping with her!! it's around a 50 min drive there, so its not sooo far.
She invited me to go camping with her like, 40 times already but i had to turn her down all the time because my parents didnt let me. her parents go camping ALL THE TIME in the summer, and nothing EVER happens.
I think my mom is cool with it, but it's my dad that frustrates me...he has this "no sleeping anywhere except my house" rule.
So HOW can i convince him that im safe with her and her parents?? helllpp please Smile

theatreluver26 I LOVE YOUR IDEA! Laughing Like little momentos of summer, ticket stubs from plays, concerts, movies, sports games, carnivals and stuff. People at my school all sign each other's binders with bright markers and write inside jokes and how much they love that friend. And we either doodle stuff on each other's binders, or paste pictures of ourselves. Just one look at it and you start off on the right foot because you know you have tons of supportive (and funny) friends who will help you laugh through any situation. (:

You can start by wearing more fitted clothes (but not too tight) and wear your hair down or in a half-pony. You can also wear floral prints and cute ballet flats--feminine clothes like that. Good luck! x0x0

I already did something to one of my notebooks before this article was even posted!!I used scrapbook paper,regular paper,a sticky note in the shape of the first letter of my name,and i drew designs on the paper!!It's awesome!Plus I always make a collage if my fave things for my binder Smile

I have a habit of doodling during class, I draw dolphins and flowers and random shapes so I just get plain binders and by the end of the year they usually are either covered in scribbles or have some sort of mural going across one side. I wish I could do something like this but with me it probably wouldn't last very long. Smile

I'm trying to get all my school supplies in teal, maroon, black, and white, so I'm printing out some of my favorite quotes from Coco Chanel, Lauren Conrad, Marilyn Monroe, and Audrey Hepburn and decorating them in those colors, then putting magnets on the back. Then I'll decorate the outside of my locker with them. It's nice at my school because nobody messes with each others' lockers ;)
