My BFF and I have been friends since pre-K. Lately, she ignores me for other friends. She rarely invites me over. When I tried talking to her about it, she smiled and walked away. How can I make her understand I’m lonely?
 
Dear Lost Without a BFF,
I’m sorry you’re feeling lonely. But instead of striving to make your friend understand this, make new friends. Can you meet some girls at the pool or rec center? Who else like to swim or throw Frisbees or go to concerts or whatever it is you do in the summer? Going away for a vacation might also help clear your mind. Is there a camp friend or cousin you can visit? It’s possible you and your BFF will become close again, but when you see her, be upbeat rather than letting her know you feel lost. When you want to get closer to someone, it’s better to seem less needy.

My ex boyfriend Brock and I got into a HUGE fight the other day and he left a "diss" on my FB Wall. And my "friend" Allie wrote "No offense or anything, but JORDAN JUST GOT DISSED BY HER EX!" and then she posted a song on my wall and said "This goes out to Brock.... From Jordan!" so I commented on it saying how tired I am of her acting like shes on my side and pretending to hate Brock and his friends and then siding with them. Then, she blocked me on FB and I sent her a message from my sisters FB saying how sorry I am but that she's not being a good friend and stuff and she replied back swearing at me saying she hated me and didn't want to be my friend anymore. I replied back tell her ok and that I'm not going to beg for her back and stuff and then my older sister saw the messages and told me how Allie isn't really my friend if she's going to act like that and not be forgiving to me after one fight then she's not really my friend. What should I do? Please help!

Hey girly! Your sister is right. This girl, Allie, sounds pretty toxic. Why would you want a girl like that as your friend? You had no reason to apologize in the first place... she was the one who should've apologized, as she was the one acting like a bad friend. You did nothing wrong, chica. I would forget this girl. Don't go out of your way to be nice, but don't be blatantly mean either. Just ignore her, or act indifferent. And, lean on your better friends for support!

ok i stopped liking my old crush cuz i just started seeing one of my guy friends in 'a different way'. He liked me since 4th grade and now we're in sixth. I wonder if he still likes me cuz i always sit next to him in the one class we have together. im wondering if he still likes me. Does he? Oh and my last question was never answered. But does my guy friend still like me?

Sorry, it's really hard to tell if guys are crushing on us - and just because he's liked you in the past and now you sit near him in a class doesn't mean he does! Try to observe how he acts around you and if he sneaks glances across the room, compliments/playfully teases/flirts with you, calls or texts you out of the blue, or gets flustered when you're around. All of these things could be signs of a crush!

So it's my first year of high school and people change and I think I have changed too but for good as in like I'm more mature, I like my teachers, and it's working out good except my BGF/ex weird combo right but ya he's immature and he already hates his teachers and it's only been the 3rd day of school and he never really had any guy friends so it's hard for him to mix well I guess, but what I'm saying is that I kind of want to space apart from him, but anytime I think I'm good and alone there he is! And for some reason I feel kind of weird if I'm introducing my self to people around him... How do I solve this?!!

 

Hey girlie,

Remember that girls mature emotionally wayyyy faster than guys at this age, so there's nothing "wrong" with him - he's actually being pretty normal, even though it feels like he's totally behind. If you don't want to be friends anymore because you've grown apart, just try to ease off communication with him. Start texting and hanging out less, cut your convos to a shorter length in person, and be less "available" when he wants to chat. Make sure this is really your final decision though because, once you cut a friend out of your life, you can rarely undo it!

ok so my school merged and and we got six new kids, theres one girl, lets A i feel like shes taking my firends away, Frown , and i search ays to talk to her esides at shool, so i can b friend swith her so its like were all one big group, but she facebook and i cant have one cuz of wa tmy mom does and how my dad is ... longer story..... and she a twitter but she hasnt been on it since july. i cant tet her cuz i dont get my fone for a awhile ....longer story..... any suggestion?




Hey girl, why not try asking her in person if she wants to hang out and give her your home number: you guys can talk that way to plan out when you're chilling one on one. Trust me, there are ways to communicate beyond social networking sites and texting.

i think im getting depressed.my bestfriend died in a car crash in october 2010 and after i saw that im less and less happy. my other friend was close to her to and that was when we were closest to confort each other but she starter to get meaner to me and others. i dont know what to do.HELP!

Losing somebody who was close to you is always hard.  Whenever you have those bad thoughts, visit nineline.org and give that number a call.  Don't worry, your parents won't see it.  But always, always try to confide in your family that you feel this way.  They're the one's who can help you the most.  It's hard but it's worth it!
