Let’s take a trip back to bio and think about the animal kingdom. Humans are mammals, right? And a defining characteristic of mammals is body hair. Just ‘cause you’re more teen queen than Planet of the Apes doesn’t mean you’re exempt from the rules of nature, so body hair is pretty much a given.

 

Yeah, yeah, it sort of stinks, but the hair that covers pretty much your entire bod protects you from the elements and keeps you warm. If you want to get rid of it, you have lots of options, but aside from the hair under your pits and coating your legs, most of it is 100-percent socially acceptable to leave as-is—and you don’t have to de-fuzz at all unless you want to. Nobody should be sizing you up based on your body hair, so stopping worrying about it, sweetie!

Just like this article I have hair everywhere it is really embarrassing today in gym I forgot to wear a tank top and my friends made fun of me because I have hair on my stomach it was so embarrassing . What should I do shave it leave it or wax what I don't like I feel like people always notice I also have a lot of hair on my arms I know some hair is normal but I have a lot and it is really noticeable. I also have hair in weird places like my feet, hands, and my lower back what should I do

MODMODMODMOD!!!! For some reason my hair keeps falling off. But I mean ALOT!Everytime Im shampooing my hair, i see hair in my hands. Also that happens when I comb my hair. Is this normal??

 

hey girl! well, I can't tell exactly how much hair your losing from this...if you're really concerned, you could go see your doctor about it. you could be missing key nutrients from your diet!

MODMODMOD! I have dark hair and I've tried bleaching my upper lip hair but it doesnt really work. Any other options I can try? I don't want to get darker,course on my face and if I can avoid painful things that would be helpful.Thanks!

 

Hey girl, the best options would be plucking or waxing. Those are the only things that I trust. Ask for "hard wax" if you get waxed, it hurts less and its more gentle on your skin.

Okay so the hair on my back and stomach is somewhat thick and it's dark too. In the summer I wear tankinis so no one will see it when I swim, but I'd really like to wear a bikini. Is there anything I can do at home to solve this? I've had a few people make comments about the hair on my upper back before and the hair on my arms but those I can deal with. Thanks tons!!




Hey girl,

Well, there are a few things you can try. For getting the hair to be lighter, you can just try wearing a bikini for a while, because the sun will naturally make hair lighter (even the hair on your head!). You can also check out some bleaching methods, but I suggest talking to your mom first. If the thickness is still bothering you, you can always get it waxed or try some hair removal cream. I suggest leaving it be, though!

Hey Girl,




Every girl has her preference when it comes to time of the month maintenance. Some girls dislike pads because they think they feel bulky. But if you don't mind them, then keep wearing them. Tampons are great because you can play sports and SWIM without worrying about leaking through (as long as you change it every few hours). If you're nervous about buying tampons, ask your mom, aunt, older sister, or other trusty adult to help you pick some out. Your school nurse may have a few useful tips as well

Hey Girly,

What you do with your pubic hair is completely your decision. Some girls choose to shave it all, some girls like to keep it neat, and some don't do anything with it. If you think you would be more comfortable with shaving, go ahead! Just make sure you're not doing it only because you feel pressured to. Make sure you're razor isn't dull and use some shaving cream to avoid getting razor burn.

im 11 turning 12 in less than 2 weeks! My boobs are really sore....i have pubic hair...a little bit of armpit hair..and started discharge almost 2 months ago today i felt really stiff in my stomach like there was something stuck in my butt... My mom got her period when she was 12....im really athletic and im average size ( about 90 lbs if that helps) and everything. Is my first period coming soon?

It’s really hard to tell exactly when you will get your period, but those are all signs of puberty which means your period could really come at any time, whether its soon or in a couple of months even a year. It’s really hard to tell but just be patient as it will happen to you eventually. Smile Hope this helps doll!

When I was in 5th grade, I was pretty stupid with the razor. I thought it was cool how the little peach fuzz type hairs on my belly, cleavage, and lower back came away so easily. Now I'm almost out of 9th grade and let me tell you the aftermath of those early years is not pretty. I don't ever want to shave in those places again, and I want so desperately to have normal body hair. I tried waxing the first two places but it isn't helping much. Please help, I haven't been swimming in a two piece since nearly two years ago, and I only swam once this summer because of this fear of people thinking I was some ugly ape. Frown

There are three options: waxing, hair lightening, or accepting the bod you've got! I know you probably wish you could go back and never shave in the first place, but we can't go back in time to fix our mistakes. Personally, I'd probably trim the hair a little with small beauty scissors to make it seem thinner, then try to embrace it and carry myself with confidence...even if I had to fake it at first til I felt it for real. But if you have the money and are willing to stick with it, you could always lighten the hair or wax it at a salon! It really does help... it's just a bigger commitment <3

There are tons of male cheerleaders who are super hot and strong -- someone's gotta toss those flyers! -- so support him if that's what he wants to do! It's fine if you don't share the same interests, but if you're friends you should support what he wants to do!

I have definetly started puberty-I have public hair and hair on my underarms. I even got my period the other day! But I have no hair on my legs. What's wrong?




Hey Doll,

Just as all girls start puberty at different times, how girls experience puberty is also very different. You probably have some hair on your legs that's just really light and thin, and that's normal. You might find that your leg hair starts growing more later, but for now, be grateful that you don't have to worry about shaving. Congrats on starting puberty!

Hey bubblerain, try trimming your ends every three weeks to prevent them from splitting. You could also create a scheldue for washing your hair. Washing my hair every ten days works for me, so try that. Hope this helps!!

All of a sudden my hair has been getting more greasy, it even looks greasy straight after I've washed it! I have oily skin, is this why? Should I wash my hair everyday? Should I use conditioner, I always do but maybe this is why my hair is getting greasy quicker? Much appreciated Smile




Hey girlie!

The same thing happens to me every now and then.  The first thing I'd try is instead of conditioning every time you shower, condition every other time.  If that doesn't work then try the same with your shampoo.  If your hair hasn't always been like this, then it has to be one of those two products.  Now all you have to do is find out which!

I messed up my eyebrows SOO badly!! On the left eyebrow at the very tip its pointy! And on the other eyebrow its round. Its so embarrassing and i let it grow back and it didnt look right so I clipped it again and I messed it up again! What do I do? I am crying Frown




Hey girl,

Stop crying, but also stop touching them! Since you made the mistake, you know now you shouldn't try to shape them on your own. In order to fill in the gaps, use a medium brown eyeshadow (or a color that is a little lighter than your natural brow color) and press it into the browline where you need a little color. It'll give the illusion that the eyebrow is curved nicely and fuller! Give it time to grow back a little bit, then try to make an appointment at a local salon that does waxing. They can establish a good-looking shape for your brows that you'll just have to clean up afterwards - or you can continue to go back to them regularly and not even worry about it at all on your own!

Hey girlyfriend, having you tried washing it differently. You could try washing it in the sink to get the top layers of your hair wet. Also be sure to really massage your scalp as you wash your hair, that will help wet the top of it so your hair lays correctly. Hope this helps you! Smile Smile Smile

There's this guy, I'll call him D. So I like D and I think he kinda likes me back. We talk a lot, but it's not like flirting or anything i guess it's just like funny conversations and stuff. I heard one of my friends (T) and D talking about me yesterday, so I asked T what they said. I thought it was gonna be that D liked me or something. So today me, T, and another kid E walked home together. E knew what D and T were talking about, so I asked them what it was. They wouldn't tell me until E left, then T told me that E wanted to ask me out. I kind of felt put on the spot because I wasn't expecting it, so I said i'd think about it. E is really nice, and funny, and cool, and I would go out with him, but I don't know about D. I mean, I think he does like me and it would be awkward when we talk. I also just met these people 2 weeks ago, when we started high school. Should I stick with D or give E a try? Im so confused...




Hey Chica!

If you just met these guys, you should take some time to get to know them more before you settle for one of them. It's better to be single for a little while longer than immediately date someone who isn't the right guy for you. Hang out with both guys (but don't go behind their backs and mislead them) and then decide who you like better. That way, you'll get the bf who's perfect for you!

Hey girlie,

If your hair gets dry easily, you can absolutely condition your scalp. If your scalp tends to get oily though, limit the conditioning to every other day. Or you could even just condition the ends of your hair, leaving the shorter scalp parts alone. Watch the signs your hair is giving you and you'll be able to tell what you need to do! Smile

Hey girl,

Removing individual hairs to "thin out" your arm hair would take forever,so that's definitely not an option you should consider. Instead, you could think about lightening the hairs there, which is an option some girls choose over waxing. But other than dyeing and waxing, there really isn't another alternative - aside from learning to accept them and be confident, no matter what! Smile
