Crushing on a special someone in secret? So is this GL reader. Here's her love letter to the guy of her dreams.
Dear Ethan,
It's been almost seven years since I first met you. The first time our ways intertwined.
In kindergarten.
How I remember we used to be close, how we used to be friends.
How I used to flutter my eyelashes when you walked in the room, do everything I watched on television to try to impress you.
Running around the playground, playing pretend. And the first moment when you told me, that you loved me was a surprise.
It was innocent, it was childhood love.
Until the day, my mom got a new job in a new city. I was told we were moving.
How I was forced to say goodbye, to my best friend.
I never came back, I never saw or heard about you again.
Until I found a box, on the top of my closet over winter break, last year. 2011.
Digging through it, I found a box of my old things way back in kindergarten and first grade.
And a picture, of the time when our class went on a field trip to a farm.
We were standing side by side our cheesy smiles shining through.
Looking out my window, I've been wondering how have you been.
Someday, perhaps our paths will intertwine. Someday, perhaps I will get the chance to see you once last time.
For no boy treated me like you.
Boy... you were my first love. And nothing will ever take that away from me.
I still do, the three familiar words.
I love you.
