Winter’s dark skies and gloomy weather is certainly enough
to give you the blues. Spring cleaning is all about clearing out the old to
make room for the new. Giving your attitude a clean up is the perfect way to
pep yourself up for the spring weather and activities. Here are a few tips to
try...
Take an hour a day for yourself
It’s always good to push the world aside and take the time
to concentrate on yourself, especially when things get busy towards the end of
the school year. Spend your “you” time painting your nails, giving yourself a
facial, blogging, scrapbooking, having a bubble bath or doing anything that
makes you feel great.
Soak up the sun
Bring your latest page-turner or even a pile of homework
outside. Add a blanket, a snack and a smidge of SPF, and your good to go.
Bonus? The Vitamin D your bod produces when you’re in the great outdoors can
lead to a way better mood.
Lend a hand
Helping out more around the house will give you a satisfying
feeling of accomplishment and will also strengthen your relationship with your
parents. They will be really appreciative of your efforts to help out. You
could fold clothes or weed the yard together. Plus, it’s a great opportunity to
bond and chat about what’s been going on in each of your lives.
Give back
When you clean out your closet this spring, look up a local
charity to donate all of your old clothes to. Helping others is a great way to
help yourself. Reflecting on the happiness you could be bringing to those less
fortunate than you is a great mood booster.
Make an effort
One of the most effective ways to feel really great about
yourself is to say something you love about yourself every morning when you
look in the mirror. Another great way to brighten you life up is to reflect
each night on everything that you enjoyed about that day. Even if you had a
crumby day appreciate some of the smaller details, like using a cute pencil or
seeing a cool shaped cloud.
