Easy prom hair: Snag Alison Brie's princess bun



We’re loving Community star Alison Brie’s funsy topknot—how perfect would this be for a cinchy prom updo? We’re dishing the deets on how you can score this style right at home. Tiara not included.

 

What Ya Need…

A brush
Hair Elastic
Bobby Pins
Hair spray
 

Instructions…

1. Start out by brushing your hair to make it smooth ‘n’ sleek.
2. Pull hair into a high ponytail on the crown of your head and secure with a hair elastic.
3. Take a small section of the ponytail and roll it back to the elastic using two fingers to create a large loop. Secure the loop to your head with a bobby pin.
4. Repeat step 3 with another small section of hair. Continue curling and looping your hair until you have made a complete bun!
5. Mist the bun with your fave hairspray to hold the look in place.
Quick tip: Pack extra bobbies in your clutch to tuck in any flyaways during the dance!

I have short hair. It's not extremely short, but it's like a pixie in the back and reaches chin length in the front. I feel like guys don't like me because I have short hair. Should I grow my hair out long because it's more feminine? Many people have told me short hair looks better on me than my long hair did. I'm tired of not being able to do a lot with it, yet I don't want to spend a huge long wait waiting for it to grow out. Help!

 

Hey! Well I just got a haircut and LOVE my new short hair. Mine's about chin-length. if you want to grow it out, that's fine, but don't do it for anyone but you ;)

MOD MOD MOD! I have naturally curly black/latina hair, and it's about (barely) shoulder length. It has been breaking off from heat, so I'm trying to let it grow out. Any hair styles I can do? thanks xoxo

 

I think that while you are growing it out it would be a good idea to just keep it all one length that way once you have your hair grown to the length that you want you will have a lot for a stylist to work with.
