5 tricks for your best-ever beauty sleep

 
 
If you’re finding it extra hard to stay awake and get through the day, it’s probably time to adjust your sleep regimen. Wake up with silky hair, glowing skin and be a morning person all by following our simple tips. Psst: When you start waking up looking fresh and totally energized, everyone will be begging to know your secret!

    1. Sleep on silky sheets for hair that shines

    It can be super frustrating when you go to bed with perfect hair and wake up with a tangled crazy mess. Try using a silk or satin pillowcase to keep hair from frizzing. When you roll around in your sleep on a regular pillowcase your hair can get tangled and knotty, which leaves you waking up with an unruly bedhead. Sleeping on a silky pillowcase assures that your hair glides across the pillow to wake up with the same hair you went to bed with, if not shinier. Score!

    2. Get an eye mask for restorative ZZZs

    Slip on an eye mask for nights where you want to get in a super deep sleep. Having that little extra coverage between your eyes and any light that peeks through your windows can help keep you asleep on lazy days. Try it out this weekend for a day you want to sleep in and get some extra beauty sleep.

    3. Plan for 8 hours

    If you’re having trouble getting out of bed in the morning, it’s probably because you aren’t getting enough sleep. It can be even harder in these chilly winter months to be an early bird. But if you hop in bed at 10 p.m. rather than staying up to watch yet another episode on Netflix, you’ll be thanking yourself in the a.m.

    4. Try a hydrating night mask

    The secret to looking well rested and awake in the morning is having bright, glowing skin. Try out a hydrating night facemask to give your skin the moisture it needs and balance out any dry, flaky patches. For our GL girls with oily/combination skin, look for a hydrating mask specific to your skin type to avoid breakouts.

    5. Dark room, cool temp

    The environment that you sleep in can totally affect how well you actually stay asleep. It’s super important that you turn off the noise, shut the blinds and close your door at night so that nothing can disturb you during your beauty rest hours. Keeping your body at a cool temp is also a factor. So, if you find yourself overheating at night, switch out a heavy comforter for a lighter fluffy duvet.
