We’re giving 1D a break for
right now and in the meantime, totally obsessing over Ross Lynch’s band
R5. Siblings Ross, Riker, Rydel and
Rocky Lynch and best friend Ratliff make up the hot new group, and we can’t get
enough of their new EP
Loud. The EP doesn’t officially drop
until Tuesday,
Feb. 19, but we’re
giving you a little sneak peek at each song right now. Read on to learn about
this four-track compilation.
“Loud”
This song is the EP title
track, and we think it represents the album really well. Full of synth beats,
this slow-building anthem will be stuck in your noggin all day. It’s super
catchy, and after the third listen, we can’t help but sing along.
“Fallin’ For You”
This song has more of a rock
sound to it than the rest of the EP, which shows how surprisingly versatile R5
is. We heart the line, “You like mismatched socks with polka dots, you like
your pizza cold, I think that’s hot.” This tune is all about falling for a girl
who’s a bit different, but totally genuine. Think you fit the bill?
“I Want You Bad”
While we love the whole EP,
this track has gotta be our fave. It was just made for dancing. Just take this
line, for example: “I’m in love with someone else’s girl, you rock my world,
but you’re the one that I can’t have.” It tells the story of wanting to be with
the one person R5 can’t have—their best friend’s girlfriend! Hey, if this band
can make even a sticky situation like this into a lighthearted and catchy tune,
we’re all for it.
“Here Comes Forever”
This song starts off with an
edgy and basic beat before the chorus sets in with lines like, “Here comes that
movie scene, one you think is so cliché, that moment when we kiss by the lake,
pouring rain.” Umm, we don’t care if it’s cliché, we’ll totally take it. There
are even lines as cute as “Let’s grow old together, here comes forever, girl.”
Yes, please!
You may know Ross from Austin & Ally and Riker from Glee, but we’re pretty confident that
you’ll come to know the entire R5 gang pretty well this year. Their music is
awesome and is bound to make them very successful.
After grabbing the EP, make
sure to keep your eye out for new spring and summer tour dates for this hot new
group.
Will you give Loud a listen when it comes out? Are you
already an R5 fan? Blog about it, babes.
