Spring transition pieces you need in your wardrobe

Let's face it—the start of spring weather (hello sunshine!) is absolutely *everything* we need rn. On the downside, the weather going from 40 degrees in the morning to a balmy 70 after school can be, well, a hassle. (The super cute puffer you put on this morning? Yeah, it's going to be a "no" once lunchtime hits).

Finding cute yet functional outfits is hard when the weather does a total 180 in the span of a few hours. Consider these pieces the starter pack for your spring lookbook and get ready to ace the snowy-to-sunny transition, once and for all.

Light sweaters

@kyleegiancola

Too hot for a chunky sweater, but too cold for just a baby tee? Light sweaters or thinner cardigans are your BFFs this szn. These simple, stylish pieces can be worn with your fave pair of jeans to beat that morning chill and afternoon heat.

Pro tip: throw that baby tee underneath, you can remove the outer layer if it becomes too hot. Bam!

Fleece-lined tights

@olivierandmaison

We're dying to break out the floral skirts and jean shorts, but it's still a biiiit too cold to rock those certified spring styles. If you want an earlier start with an extra boost of warmth, consider fleece-lined tights to keep your legs cozy.

Psst...these tights pair super well with flats to kickstart your balletcore wardrobe.

Denim jackets

@viaemmajang

It's time to retire the puffer and bring out the jashion (jean fashion, ofc)! These timeless, polished jackets are a must-have and provide much lighter coverage than a bulky winter coat. You can customize your jacket by putting on pins, buttons or even painting on the fabric to make it completely unique.

Plus, these jackets go sooo well with a patterned maxi skirt for all the 90s vibes.

Long sleeves

@shopexitco

Jeans + a plain T-shirt + your fave sneakers = the perfect spring outfit. But when a short-sleeved tee is a bit too light for the temps, a long-sleeve alternative makes for a fitting substitute. It's not basic, bb—it's classic.

And trust us, you can never have too many colors. (One is just never enough).

Linen pants

@nellycom

What do you get when island vibes meet city chic? Floaty linen pants and a solid-color sweater, natch. This look serves spring while keeping you prepped for any lingering cold of the end of winter.

This fit is totally an ode to the clean girl aesthetic—don't forget to add your chunky gold hoops and tiniest sunglasses.

Happy almost spring szn, babes! Show us your warm-weather fits on IG @girlslifemag.
