We Tried It: Matte mani

Looking for a twist on your basic mani/pedi? Switch up the texture for a totally new look. NYX claims its matte polish will it’ll achieve a “rich and velvety texture,” so we put it to the test to see if the polish lived up to the hype. A few minutes later, we were blown away! This statement-making polish dries with a muted, softened tone instead of your typical glossy finish.
We love that matte lets you play with texture as well as color: Try a matte nail with a shiny French tip, or vice versa. Or if you still need a bit of sparkle? Just paint on a clear top coat, or even a layer of glitter (perf for a party!).  
We love the Rose hue for a date – it’s sweet, romantic and not too flashy. Baby Pink is neutral, but adds a girly touch to casual outfits. Looking for a school-appropriate shade? Taupe is totally hot for the hallways.
