The surprising beauty ingredient you already have in your kitchen cabinet

While we patiently await warmer temps and bare-it-all-skin, now is a great time to work on making your complexion summer ready. The good news? Turmeric (a.k.a an orange-hued kitchen spice) is known to cure breakout woes in mask form. It's easy breezy to make, filled with antioxidants, plus it acts as a natural anti-inflammatory (see ya later zits). Here's what you need to incorporate the traditional spice into your routine and get that glowing skin you've been craving.

Turmeric Face Mask

Ingredients:
  • 1 tsp Turmeric
  • 1 tsp Raw Organic Honey
  • 1 tsp Milk or Plain Yogurt

Directions:

1. Be sure to wash your face, tie up your hair, and wear an old tee in case the mask drips (this spice is known to stain easily).

2. Put turmeric in a small bowl, mix in honey, followed by milk and yogurt. The amount of milk or yogurt can be adjusted to your desired mask consistency. The more you use, the thicker the mask will be—just be sure it is thick enough to stick to your face!

3. Apply mask evenly over the face and let sit for about 20 minutes.

4. Wash off with cool water and pat dry with a clean towel.
