The cold girl's ultimate guide to winter skincare

We'll be the first to tell you that winter and summer skincare routines are, well, *drastically* different. While you can usually get away with just slapping on SPF and moisturizer in the summer, your complexion probably needs a little extra TLC in the colder months.

With the right combination of products (and a little refresh to your p.m. skincare routine), you'll be glowy and hydrated in no time. Bc chilly forecasts have got nothing on feeling—and looking—our best.

Step 1: Cleanser

Glycolipid Cream Cleanser, $12

As any skincare girlie knows, cleanser is the first step in a good nighttime wind-down. Removing makeup, dead skin cells and all the oil from the day is v. important for preventing breakouts. (Plus, a clean base will help your other products absorb better.)

Opt for a creamy or milky formula during the colder months, since they're gentler on your skin and often contain extra-hydrating ingredients (this cleanser is formulated with glycolipids, which help restore your skin barrier).

Step 2: Serum

Hydro-Plumping Hydrating Serum, $62

If you want to add a little ~spice~ to your skincare routine, look no further than a hydrating serum. The right serum will plump your skin and add an extra layer of hydration. Not to mention that it applying it to your face will low-key make you feel like a #skinfluencer.

Some ingredients to have on your radar? Vitamin C and vitamin E (prevents damage from harmful UV rays) and hyaluronic acid (binds water to your skin). Just keep in mind that many serums have lots of active ingredients (aka, fast results!), so it's not necessary to slather it on—just one or two pumps will do.

Step 3: Moisturizer

Biotic Radiance-Boosting Hydrator, $68

Don't worry if your skin feels a little stiff after cleansing—that's where a good moisturizer comes in. Moisturizing should be the final step in your face skincare routine, as it locks in your complexion's water content and essential nutrients. This silky Nuebiome moisturizer improves dullness, heals dryness and contains a unique blend of probiotics (aka a super-boost for your skin!).

Step 4: Body Skincare

Extra Hydrating Body Oil, $18

PSA: Skincare shouldn't stop with your face! Your bod needs just as much love during snowy szn. (Legs ever feel tight and itchy after shaving? That's because your skin tends to lose moisture after a hot shower.) Enter: A body oil, which can restore much-needed moisture and improve your skin's natural barrier. This blend from Sky Organics has ingredients like sweet almond and borage oil to replenish, soothe and soften skin. (And it smells like a dream.) Add to cart, pls!
