We just heard the first song from Disney's Descendants: Rise of Red...and it's iconic
Just when we thought we couldn't get any *more* obsessed with Miss Kylie Cantrall...she hits us with her first original song for the new Descendants: Rise of Red movie. The debut track "What's My Name (Red Version)" and epic music vid gives us a first glimpse of what's to come for Red, the daughter of the Queen of Hearts, in the fourth installment in the Descendants series. Safe to say, Red makes bad look (and sound) sooo good!
Longtime Descendants fans will instantly recognize this melody; this jam is a revamped (and extra villainous) version of China Anne McClain's "What's My Name" from Descendants 2 . Just like the name suggests, "What's My Name (Red Version)" kicks off with a verse from one of our O.G. fave villain kids—we see you, Uma!—but then introduces a brand new, wickedly awesome character: Red.
One reason we're already fangirling is the fact that this collab is basically the ideal blend of old Descendants and new Descendants. It seems like Rise of Red will be the perfect chance to revisit all the nostalgic characters *and* get to know some fresh faces (ofc, we're still holding our breath to meet Malia Baker's character, Chloe, daughter of Cinderella).
Musically, we're rocking with this rendition's edgy guitar and thumping bass. And lyrically, Red (aka "Little Miss Behaved") is dropping some serious bars while serving Evie-and-Mal-core with her bold dyed hair and rebel gal leather fit. Pretty sure we're going to be singing this one louder and louder until we return to Auradon this July.
