The biggest OMG celeb moments of the week

In a school rut and feeling overwhelmed with papers, tests and trying to get your crush’s attention? Take a quick break and catch up on your fave celebs with this week’s gossip. The past few days have been loaded with album announcements and awards. Find out who won big and what music we have to look forward to. Plus: Who got a major crop cut? Read on for the scoop.

Taylor Swift sweeps the CMAs

The Country Music Awards are always a big hit, loaded with fashion, fun and, of course, some amazing country tunes. This week, T-Swift took home the Pinnacle Award at the 2013 CMAs, given only to those who give country music to a worldwide audience. Taylor is the first to receive this award since Garth Brooks in 2005—and for a girl who has already nabbed countless awards, we find it adorable that she still gets surprised after every single win. Tay also took the stage and performed her hit song “Red” on her big night in a very low-key manor with other country stars by her side.

Catch her performance below…

Katniss gets a haircut

On Wednesday, The Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence posted a pic on her Facebook revealing a new ‘do that left us with one major Q: WWKD (What Would Katniss Do)? We totally love the fact that she hopped on the pixie trend bandwagon that many other stars are starting to join. And, have no fear, JLaw was later quoted as saying, “This isn’t how Katniss is going to look in the next movie. Don't worry.” Phew. The reason for the change? Her locks were reportedly fried from being dyed so much and it was getting to be that awkward length…so she chopped it off. What do you think of Jen’s new look?

Ariana hops into the holiday spirit

GL two-time cover girl Ariana Grande recently announced to her over 10 million Twitter followers that we will soon have an Ariana Christmas EP (eeep!!) Ari’s counting down the release to her album by releasing a new song every week. The first song, “Last Christmas,” is set to drop on Nov. 19. And, not only that, but she just mentioned that she recorded a duet with Victorious co-star Liz Gillies. Please tell us the song makes it to the EP.

PLL lands a nomination

Looks like our fave TV show Pretty Little Liars is getting even more popular (we didn’t even know that was possible!). It was announced this week that PLL is nominated for “Favorite Cable TV Drama” for this year’s People’s Choice Awards for the third time. Although PLL is up against some strong shows, we believe that it will go home the winner. Be sure to tune into the PCA’s on January 8 to find out who is victorious.

Little Mix gets a Salute

Little Mix recently revealed the release date for their upcoming album Salute. Woohoo! UK fans can start listening to the new tunes starting next week, but unfortunately for us in the USA, the album won’t be available until February 4. Although it’s a bummer, good things come to those who wait, right? We can’t wait to be jamming along to their new 12-track album in 2014.

In the meantime, catch a snippet of some of the songs on the album below…

Lorde now has beef with…Selena
The New Zealand newcomer recently shared her two cents on Selena’s hit “Come & Get It”—and they weren’t that favorable. “I’m a feminist and the theme of [Come & Get It] is, ‘When you’re ready come and get it from me.’ I’m sick of women being portrayed this way,” Lorde was quoted as saying, which prompted Sel to retaliate in a new interview with Flaunt magazine. Her comeback? “That’s not feminism. [Lorde is] not supporting other women. That’s my honest opinion, that’s what I would say to her if I saw her.” Wonder if these two will bump into one another on the street anytime soon. Don’t expect it to be at one of Sel’s upcoming shows, though. Rumor has it the ex Disney darling might be banning any of Lorde’s songs (which she’s been known to cover) at her upcoming gigs.
