Meghan Trainor is not all about that photoshop
Meghan Trainor has been kicking butt so far this year—not only has she released a bunch of funky fierce new tracks, her second album coming out this Friday. Yesterday, her fans were pumped to see her music video for her new single “Me Too”—but when the video was almost immediately taken down, some were wondering what happened.
The Grammy winner took to Snapchat to clarify what happened: Producers had photoshopped her (without her consent) to make her waist look thinner—and Meghan wasn't about it. You can see how much of a difference there was in this photo Meghan shared on her Instagram.
"Hey guys, I took down the 'Me Too' video because they Photoshopped the crap out of me," she said in a series of videos according to ABC News. "I'm so sick of it and I'm over it, so I took it down until they fix it. My waist is not that teeny; I had a bomb waist that night, I don't know why they didn't like my waist, but I didn't approve that video and it went out for the world, so I'm embarrassed."
With her most popular hit being "All About That Bass," Meghan is big on promoting body positivity, and proud to show her curvy figure off to the world. "The video is still one of my favorite videos I've ever done. I'm very proud of it," she confessed on Snapchat. "I'm just pissed off that they broke my ribs. You know?"
Luckily, the new un-photoshopped video of “Me Too” is already here. Check it out.
"Me Too" is the second single from her album Thank You which will be released this Friday, May 13.
What do you think about photoshopping body images? Do you think Meghan made the right decision to take her video down?
