Double Up!
USA Today recently reported that kids are getting less than half of the necessary fresh foods. A recent study found that teens nosh a li'l more than 2 cups of juice, vegetables and fruit daily. The recommended amount is a whopping 2.5 cups of good-for-you veggies (ie, not potato chips) and 2 cups of fruit each and every day.
But you don't have to go totally gourmet to nibble on nature's garden-fresh snacks. Cut up carrots and broccoli to eat with lunch, start din with a salad or veggie soup and swap all sugary sweet for yummy fruit.
