The lazy girl's guide to a productive summer day

Stuck in the dog days of summer? It happens to the best of us. It just feels like the days blur together when you're cuddling in your blankets, eating your third bowl of cereal of the day and wondering what else to do when all your friends are traveling or busy. But, don't worry—we've been there! Sometimes, we all need a little pick-me-up to feel like our best and most productive selves during the summer. Lucky for you, here is a step-by-step schedule to maximize your day for all you lazy girlies out there.

8:00 a.m. Ditch the PJs and make breakfast!

@gracienielson

We get it—PJs are comfy! But, staying in them all day only makes you want to crawl back in bed. Instead, put on your favorite workout set or loungewear to feel cute + comfy. Next, make your favorite easy and nutritious breakfast to start your day off right. Whether this is a fruit salad, yogurt bowl or avocado toast, make sure to fuel your body.

10:00 a.m. Vitamin D time

@gracienielson

Getting fresh air and sunlight is the best way to feel energized in the morning. Even if you're not up for hardcore exercise, go on a hot girl walk, do pilates on the grass or simply journal. Listen to your favorite main character playlist or an informational podcast to get in the mood. Moving your body (even if it's not intense) is a great way to feel productive.

12:00 p.m. Find a new summer recipe

@cookingwithremi

Summer is the perfect time to brush up on those cooking skills. Find a light and easy recipe on Pinterest or TikTok, put on a summer playlist and get cooking! Whether you're making pasta salad, a smoothie bowl or a bagel sandwich, you'll definitely feel accomplished (and have a delish dish to show for it).

2:00 p.m. Get busy in a local coffee shop

@whatsdesreading

The long hours of mid-afternoons always seem draining. Switching up your location can actually help you stay focused and energized. Go try out a local coffee shop and order a new drink like a lavender matcha or honey rose latte. Whether you have summer homework to get done or simply want to finish the book that's been sitting on your shelf, working out of your normal workplace is an awesome way to romanticize those long mid-afternoons.

4:00 p.m. Cool girls volunteer

@alohakiki808

Not old enough for a summer job? Don't worry, we got you. Find a local nonprofit like a women's shelter, pet adoption center or homeless center and find ways to get involved. Don't be afraid to call their organization or visit in person to ask if there are ways that you can help out.

6:00 p.m. Take-out night with the fam

@hjevelyn

After your busy day, the last thing you probably want to do is make a gourmet dinner. Instead, get into your comfiest sweats and order from your favorite restaurants. Instead of eating in your room or watching T.V., talk to your fam about your day.

8:00 p.m. Nightly cleanse

@niasioux

Take a bubble bath with your favorite bath bombs. If you want to get a little more fancy, add rose petals and light up a candle or two. Do your skincare routine and put on your favorite movie or TV show to end your day—you deserve it, girl!
