How To: Sport a confetti-inspired mani

Rah rah for Super Bowl XLVI! Tonight's big game deserves a spirited mani, even if my Ravens didn't make it to the finals. So, I'll be sporting New York Giants colors for one night only. Pats fans can't complain, since their colors are almost identical (Giants' are blue, red, white and grey; Pats' are nautical blue, century silver, white and red – I did my research!).

Just like the cascading confetti at the end of the game, this polka dot tip mani is like a mini celebrating stadium on your fingers. Too festive for football fans to resist! Here's how to get this championship-worthy mani:

1. Paint your base color. Let dry.

2. Using the head of a bobby pin, paint dots in your first color starting at the tip of your nail. Make the dots bigger at the edge, then scatter random size spots near the tip. Or, cover the nail completely, like I did with my ring finger.

3. Repeat with colors of choice. Let dry.

4. Finish with clear coat. Voilà!

To be honest, it just didn't feel right rocking another team's colors, so I found a sneaky way to rep my Ravens. Check out my purple pedi:

After coating my nails with lilac, I used a thin brush to line the tips with a dark purple. So worth trying on either set of digits this spring. It's a shame we have 6 more weeks of winter, because I was ready for flip flop season.

And go figure that after the Ravens lost in the playoffs, I found this NFL-approved fingernail polish. (Psst! They have 'em for every team, too.) At least my boyfriend knows what to get me for Valentine's Day. So stoked for next season!
