July = time for a mid-year reset

Can you believe it's already July?! We have officially passed the halfway point of 2023. It's time to reflect on the year so far and, more importantly, the upcoming second half.

Let's start with this: Do you remember your New Year's resolutions? Have you continued to work towards them up until now? Or did you abandon them a few weeks in?

If you identify with the latter, no worries. We've got you covered! When making resolutions at the start of the year, we commonly set huge, unrealistic goals without considering the small steps we need to get there. We can get overwhelmed by the prospect of changing a large aspect of our life overnight. (Psst...in reality, this is impossible.)

The key to long-lasting and achievable goals is baby steps—aka little goals along the way that eventually lead to a larger resolution.

Reflecting and setting goals

A common thought behind setting goals is that it can only be done at the start of the new year. However, it is important (and healthy) to remember that you can set goals at any point in the year. This helps you evolve and stay motivated. Additionally, the midpoint of any year presents an opportunity to reflect on our New Year's resolutions: what worked, what didn't, what was forgotten and what we want to continue working towards. Here are some questions to ask yourself about each goal you set:

If your goal no longer fits into your current lifestyle or is no longer something you value, feel free to leave it behind. Part of growing is constantly evolving what you value and want out of life. So if it is not serving you, you probably should not put any more time and energy into achieving it.

But if this resolution is still something you'd like to work towards, here are some tips to reach it:

Mid-year reset

Along with reflecting on and continuing to work towards goals, it is important to do a little mid-year reset! Checking in with yourself is the most important step. From there, start incorporating new habits to become the best version of yourself and continue taking steps towards your goals. This can be broken up into a few different categories: environment, personal, health and wellness. Here is the *ultimate* guide to a fresh, mid-year reset.
