History comes to life! Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian
(on DVD today, Dec. 1) takes place at the Smithsonian Institution in
Washington D.C., home to over 136 million items, including the plane
Amelia Earhart flew on her solo flight across the Atlantic and
Dorothy’s ruby red slippers.
Funny man, Ben Stiller, stars as Larry Daley, a former night
watchman at the Museum of Natural History where the exhibits magically
come to life after dark. Creeeepy, right? Now that his after-hour
friends are being put away in the museum’s archives, Larry is forced
back to work at a different post where even more mayhem quickly begins.
Larry joins forces with museum pals like Amelia Earhart, Teddy
Roosevelt, Rexy the Tyrannosaurus skeleton and Dexter the Capuchin
monkey, to fight the evil Egyptian Pharoah Kahmunrah who wants to take
over the museum….and the rest of the world. A hilarious all-night
battle ensues and it is up to Larry to save the day.
This DVD up for grabs has some extra goodies, too! Filled with one
hour of special feature laughs, including a commentary by the cast and
crew, six deleted scenes with an alternate ending and a gag reel among
other delights. Even if you did see it in theaters, you’re still in for
a treat! Grab your BFFs and pop some popcorn, this comedy is sure to
give ya laugh.
