WHAT: Summer interns will join our small, hand-selected intern team where they will pitch, write, edit and publish articles for Girls' Life's web content. There are new opportunities for interns with every semester.

WHERE: All candidates based in the United States are considered. You will need to have some availability during work hours in Eastern Standard Time (EST).

WHY: Hear it from our interns themselves!

"My summer as a GL intern was one of the coolest opportunities I've had as a student. I was able to work with other interns across the country and create work I'm really proud of for a magazine I love. You really get the chance to try out a lot of different things, from editorial to social media, and you're encouraged to branch out of your comfort zone. No matter what, you'll finish the program knowing you gained an experience I don't think you could find anywhere else." - Erin S., 2020 Intern

"My internship with GL has been such a positive addition to my life. It's provided me with much-needed knowledge about the world of media and journalism. Through hands-on experiences I've learned so much about what it's like to write and work for a magazine. I've immersed myself in so many areas and gotten exposure to writing for print and digital, peer editing, working in social media, interviewing influencers and so much more. These experiences, combined with the excellent support from Katherine, have really helped improve my writing skills. I really value the collaboration with the other GL interns and employees. Everyone is so hardworking and driven to always do their best." - Hayley M., 2020 Intern

HOW TO APPLY: Email Katherine Hammer at with your resume, cover letter and 1-2 samples of your favorite writing you've done (could be a personal essay, English paper, school newspaper article or just write the type of piece you'd want to write for Girls' Life!).
